Agreed, the whole county. They're putting the cart before the horse. I say just turn it into a giant science and educational hub. They have a biodiverse marshland that is begging for biologist. The county can host new colleges and scientific enterprises! Conventions for cerebral tourists and investors, like a massive science fair! The islands are small enough to be the perfect sample size showcasing what a truly sustainable and self-sufficient city can be if they invested heavily in eco-friendly technology along with eco-friendly infrastructure. The surrounding communities certainly could benefit from a change in industries too. They're limiting their potential by trying to be solely a tourist destination. Get new anchor industries that pay well in first, then all the amenities that interest shoppers and tourism will naturally come in afterwards.

lol non gaming? Do these people think non gaming is a good thing? what does blatstein think an arcade is? Your certainly putting enough money into those machines at the lucky snake, but you aint getting any money back!! ITS STILL GAMING!! Gaming is the only reason why we go to ac!! The mayor needs to realize that gaming is the ONLY reason people come to ac period!
@djargus2 жыл бұрын
You do need some entertainment for non-casino players if you can call it a resort city. Blatstein was trying his damndest to get around the purchase restriction that Caesar's Entertainment put on the Showboat building after closing its casino, that anyone buying it cannot use the property as a casino, but he apparently failed in doing that. So Blatstein is trying to make money on what he can use the building for, and I am glad. I like waterparks and I love arcades (especially pinball), what Blatstein should be doing next is refurbish the former House of Blues (if there isn't another deed restriction on that... Ugh, if there is) and reopen it for concerts and other events and use the non-arcade/non-go-kart part of the former casino floor for newer conventions and reopen up the Showboat Buffet.

Another waste of money! Atlantic city went down after they started charging $400 - $500 for a room. You can't expect people to pay $1000 for a weekend on just sleeping and give you money to gamble. People stopped going. People go to their local casinos where they can gamble and go home. I use to go all the time but not anymore! It's cheaper to go to vegas and it's way better!
