Hot fuzz is not just 2 random words slapped together because they sound cool... It's slang for the police. Ever since we were kids (over 20 years ago) I have heard it used and used it myself. I think it comes from Hawaii 5-0 which got contracted to just 5-0 then that turned into Fuzz... Where the hot part comes from I'm not sure, I'm not an etymologist. But Hot Fuzz as been around long before this movie.

52: Samson the German Shepard was called Saxon in the movie was only explained you with only one reason on why the name change but there's actually one more. They changed it from Samson to Saxon was to pay homage to the name of Anglo-Saxon where modern England was built on the basis of Saxons from the Germanic tribe of the 500AD before they were conquered by the Normans in 1066 and coincidentally, Samson was a German Shepard thus, "Saxon".

Hot Fuzz is one of the most intricately written films ever made, and rivals Get Out in terms of clever foreshadowing. Few movies can do setup and payoff so effectively. I also find it amazing that Nicholas had a love interest, but her dialogue was so generic that they could literally cut her and give it to his best friend Danny. I don’t think Hot Fuzz is a love story, but it’s interesting to think it could’ve been one if they hadn’t made it a buddy story.
