Thank you heaps for all these great videos! Just finished the "1961 XLCH Ironhead" rebuild series and watching these "How to"s now. You're a great man for sharing all your knowledge via these videos and highly appreciated, too. Just need a workshop like yours with all the tools now and can do everything myself even at the other side of the world.

Just bought 67FLH comes with an S&S flywheel, in order to set the timing correctly should I use the F mark or somewhere between F and TF ? thanks for your help
@TatroMachine2 жыл бұрын
that depends on your ignition. points time at the F" front timing mark and electronic ignitions time at the TD" top dead center timing mark. tatro

touring evo 1995 have 3 marks - there is line its 1 cylinder tdc. after 2 dots and after 1 dot. when I'm setting ignition through the window with strobe gun which mark should I see?

dippending on the ignition curve you have, you should see the timing mark (large dot) at some point around 3000rpm. the dot should be in the center of the hole for stock timing. in the back of the hole with a performance ignition curve. if you have a dial back timing like it will show what your timing is. tatro

have a friend with a 2007 night train with the 110 cu.in. motor. now this thing loves to get out of true with the press style flywheels , and he babies this bike. this is second time it has done it. i was looking at that evo engine you were rebuilding and was wondering if an aftermarket crank could be used? install a nut secured pinion shaft and they make them with a earlier style flywheels with same stroke as the night train . if this could be done with a good balancing job it would stop that hoochi coo shit those press cranks have.. anyhow just a thought.

the s&s crank is the oil good option right now. the older 5-piece cranks were better then the new 3-piece ones they make now. tatro

I would think S&S correctly machine stampped their products accurately! This explains my timing issues causing missed fire, back firing or failed start. My motor requires the module to be set to a slight retard in order to fire correctly without any further issues. Great video!

He loves to drop stuff on his metal bench. , should lay a few rags out 1st or something. Hard to watch , when the banging /clanging sounds are loud as hell. .great info though, and seems to know his stuff.

rags hold lint and dirt so i use them sparingly. i keep my tools and benches clean for ther same reasons. metal against metal makes nosie, deal with it. tatro

@TatroMachine I get that , and you probably got used to working that way. But if you are gonna record and have a KZbin channel it's hard to watch. Just constructive criticism.
