@bro17934 жыл бұрын
Shy Good boi oh! For one, I recommend getting 2 rabbits, which seems like more work and it kind of is but it helps you out in the long run. When you have one bunny you have to spend a LOT of time with them, considering that they don’t have a friend, but when you have two bunnies they can hangout together, and when your gone for vacation and stuff it will be better since someone is there to play with. With the litter box you will want they a larger cat one, as the litter boxes for bunnies are way to small. And I think you should get 2 litter boxes so you won’t have to clean it out as often, hope this helps! xx

Scrambled Egg-Z while it may be good to adopt it is not bad to get from a breeder because they are going to continue to breed whether you get one from them or not. That is what I did because I wanted to bond with a baby.
@kaitlyn23214 жыл бұрын
Nandita Nirvana it’s not abuse how do you think rabbits get to the shelter. A breeder. If there are no breeders there will be no rabbits so while some breeders are not good others can be very good and give the rabbits good space that may be your opinion my opinion is clear and you can’t tell me that it’s abuse because it’s not especially done right/nicely. Adopt=great. Breeder= also great. I love having my baby and I am getting him fixed in a few months so it’s not like he’s bad
@sabrinasantaguida32994 жыл бұрын
Kaitlyn ya, an ethical breeder is a viable option. However adopting is much better. If you give money to a breeder, you’re supporting their business of breeding animals which leads to more animals ending up in the shelter, and more getting euthanize. Why keep breeding when so many sweet animals need homes already?

My oldest rabbit, that i got at 6 weeks, he litter trained himself within aboit a week. He was in a 2-3 ft dog crate with a hay rack above the litter box that couldn't be reached from outside the box. The litter hox took up half the pen. At 2 and a half months i upgraded him to a 4-4ft pen. I tried introducing carpet and soft beds but he just soaked them in pee, i took them away. I feed him science select young rabbit pellets and alfalfa hay. I had him fixed at 4 months. He has only had a accidents like peeing over the edge since. 3-4 months ago i got a rabbit that had issues. He was 3 and a half months old. He didn't have alot of hair. His back and belly had the most. His hands and legs and ears have no hair. His hair is very thin, like its only an overcoat with no undercoat. He also has a heart murmur. I started him out in my bathroom. Its probably 32-48 square feet. He had a few accidents and was a poop machine. He was 2 and a half pounds amd pooped about 3 cups of poops. After 2 weeks i put him in my livingroom with my other older rabbit. He mainly peed in his box but sometimes would pee in a corner. His poops have only recently started evening out and he tends to use his litter box more for his poops. He shows no inclination to have hormonal displays even though his testicles have dropped. He has yet to hump his stuffed animals, or spray. Due to his health issues i cannot have him fixed. We are still running blood work and it appears he has something along the lines of thyroid issues. Hopefully me and my vet can determine what the issue is and help him grow hair and be his best self.

You can expand the pine pellets before you put it in the litter box. I do 2:1 pellets to water. Warmer water expands faster so I just make my mixture while I clean out the dirty litterbox. It doesn't absorb as easily but it a lot softer on their feet and makes the pellets go further.

Be really careful with the Carefresh bedding. I was using just pellets for years but added some to my bunny’s litterbox after hearing that the bare pellets might hurt her feet. Two days later she started to show signs of GI stasis and I caught her eating it. I was using carefresh before switching to pellets and she never had a problem with it, never tried to eat it, so it didn’t even occur to me that she might eat it now. But she did and she almost died so please watch your buns really closely when introducing or reintroducing Carefresh.

Hello, loved your video. Lots of great info. I have two male holland lops and neither are neutered. When they were bunnies we kept them together but then i noticed the bigger one would basically try biting the smaller one. So i put them into separate cages. Can i try to put them back together to keep them from being bored?

Any advice for those of us who've adopted older bunnies that aren't yet fixed or will be fixed?

My buns were perfectly litter trained before getting spayed and neutered. Older bunnies can't make it through surgery sadly... Kindly tell the age of em. You may try litter training before getting fixed.

@@shimpisingh7224 She's 3, almost 4. She was a breeding rabbit rescued from a bad situation. She's on daily pain meds for a condition caused from living in a cage her whole life. She did great in surgery, thankfully. Rather than total free roam, I've gone back to shrinking her allowed space to an area that she seems comfortable enough in, that she does not potty everywhere. My home is 633sq ft, too small for multiple litter boxes. Her area is in the living room, it's the size of about 3-4 xpens. She has toys and bc she's in the living room she gets lots of attention. She seems happy. How were your rabbits after surgery? Did they come through ok?

@@audreyd859 yup Rabbits can live upto 10 years so 3-4 years isn't that old So, if your bunny is less than 7 years, he's going to be completely fine through surgery!! My Bunnyes arnt spayed yet due to the pandamic situation. They'll get spayed by March 2021 and for any more updates on the Bunny's you are always welcome to watch my channel if you want. Free roam is a good option but can't be the best in a few senarious Like yours Mine are free roam in the house Because of your situation I am happy for you to do what you did!! 2-3 ex pens are a good enough space Want any more advice, always reply back!! Bye!!

Hey the hay rack you used in this video looks great, may i ask how where can I can similar product?

I’m so confused. So no pine or cedar.. and your other video says not to feed your bunny pellets but my vet says both cedar/pine and pellets for fine for rabbits. Help!! Why not use pine? And I’m told pellets are a good for rabbits... also I layer my pine with the soft recycled paper.

How often do you replace the paper litter? my rabbits seems to pee a lot, but not all paper was used, and not easier to pick out the wasted pieces. Also, I tried the wood pellets at the bottom, and top with paper pulp. however, It seems that I still need to replace all of them everyday. Would you share roughly amount of paper/wood pellets that you used for each? Just so that I can observe mine? Thank

In about a week we are getting 3 bunnies, all from the same nest. Since they all are familiar with each other, do you think that would help with litter training them?

When I got my bunnies, the lady said they were litter trained and they had a few accidents, but after a while I saw a lot of poop on the ground. This is a super helpful video. Do puppy pee pads work for rabbits?

I am planning on getting 2 bunnies of Holland lops so I was looking for the litter and bedding. Can anyone suggest which company to buy it from. Really love the video
@samanthachappo73434 жыл бұрын
The bedding is CareFresh. Not sure what the litter is, I think different places have different brands. If you have a Tractor Supply they have both there

Thank you for doing this video and giving me your opinions. I only worry about using anything that is prime when you reference pellets that are made of time if they could still be harmful to rabbits?. Other than that I want to try to build a hay delivery system like you have the round holes something that can meet small enough but have plenty of hay for them along with the double litter box. I've experienced the slightly older rabbit which is only about 2 months older than the little one that he's bought it with guards the litter box sometimes so it gets aggravating when I got to clean up the pee off the rug in the camper thank God for a shopVac.
