I have the same model purchased 6 months ago and have not yet disconnected the backhoe. KZbin to the rescue! Excellent video and that dolly should work well when lining up the tractor to reinstall.

Great idea. I would have never thought those Harbor Freight carts were rated to carry that much weight.

Dolly works great. Had to make mine 60 inches long total. Bucket was slipping off at 48 inches. Now I can literally put the backhoe on in 3 minutes. Taking it off, 5 minutes. No exaggeration . The castors are super cheap on the HF dollys but should last awhile. I pumped the upper bearings full of grease and taped them up with blackticle tape. The wheels don’t have bearings. Just axle on plastic . So we will see how long they last. It works best by going ever so slowly while operating hydraulics . No jerking around. Good video. Got me going. Thanks!

I took my backhoe off in my concrete driveway and it's now sitting on the ground. I need to build one of these carts. New owner. Still figuring all out. Enjoy your videos. Thanks.

Nice video . Smart having your wife drive the tractor . It gets her involved with what you're doing . A lot of You Tube guys are doing that . Here hun you drive the tractor . That stand is good if you're just going to unhook the backhoe and leave it there . If you were going to move it in and out of the garage I'd put better wheels on it . That dirty bucket would drive me crazy . LOL .

Excellent idea. Please do a video on reattaching the 260 backhoe. I struggled with it at the dealer.. and will be getting one soon.

You probably read some of my posts if you were looking in forums. Took me a while to figure out that difference in wheel sizes for the 260b backhoe, think I had to use 5" instead of 6". I built mine before I had the tractor and was the best thing I did. Very nice having the cart and storing the backhoe and moving it around that way. I always put the pins back in on the backhoe once I take it off, shouldn't have any leak down issues. Just hope the HF wheels hold! Be a nightmare if a wheel failed and it fell over or something.

Good job I think the backhoe cart was a really good idea and should serve you well.I’m actually pretty happy to see how your “better half” is seeming to get so comfortable with the tractor as it makes things a lot easier and enjoyable to get things done

I have the same tractor and could not justify spending the money, but boy was I wrong. I use my JD for everything and my back appreciates it. Another good video!

I made a cart to store my loader on my BX out of a couple 4x4’s some 2x4’s and Harbor Freight casters. It works fantastic and I think I have maybe less than $50 into it.

Good job on cart. U seem to be pretty handy with woodworking u might try taking some plywood and make a front bucket expander to use when moving grass and leaves. Works like a charm. Thanks for the videos. Be safe.

You all have a nice home there in Ohio and plenty of equipment for doing work around your home. Your tractor must come in handy for so much work around the home also. I have to get out and put my mowers to work if I can get them started and one is harder to start than the other. It is that time of year and I also have to get the weed trimmers running also and probably work on the saws which isn't starting for me. I spent so much money taking them to the repair shop and they still don't start for me. The only one which works fine is the battery saw which is easy to operate and do most of the work I have.

If you had it to do over would you still purchase the backhoe? Back and forth about whether to get one or not on a subcompact/compact tractor.

Yes, no question for me. I may get a 2 series in the future (keyword "may") and that would have a backhoe also.

Can the hydraulic hose be connected to create a loop so the pressure doesn't build up? I have the older model of this backhoe attachment and when I store it, the ends are able to be connected. As the hydraulics settle, I can still connect months later.
@ataleofthreecabins1025
@ataleofthreecabins1025 4 жыл бұрын
I do connect the ends to keep them clean, but the stabilizers still leak down or a change in temperature creates pressure.

They are made by Titan. You can get them directly from them, or Amazon, or Ebay. I used ebay cause I had some ebay bucks to use up. I've done a couple videos on them and dedicated forks. Take Care, Tom

I would have planed the 4 x 4 to fit in the grove of the backhoe? That way the two pieces would stay together w/o any stress!

Hi, I need help on the hydraulic system and watching your video I came up with an idea, kindly you can take some photos or better a video following the 2 hydraulic pipes that run the 260B excavator, where they connect to the hydraulic system of the tractor?!?! Thanks and congratulations for the videos.

Great cart for about $30 investment with dollies from the "Cheap Tool Place". Only thing you need to watch is the height of your machine depending on which tires you have. I have turf tires and the 4x4 was too high. I used a 2x4 laying flat with a piece of pine on top of that and it was perfect. I can take the 'hoe off and store it in the corner of my shed in just a few minutes with little to no effort. Oh and for bleed off I just stuck a 2x4 between the bucket edge and where the crowd and boom frames meet so the bucket can't move... can sit forever like that none of the cylinders have any pressure on them.

enjoyed how you built your cart for your backhoe. I have a different brand and want to do something similar. I didn't think the harbor freight carts would work. How well did they work after you used it for a few months?

I had one wheel get stuck in a crack on my drive and tore the bearings out of the swivel. It was a quick fix as I had an older cart I cracked years ago with too much weight. I took a wheel from that and was back in business quickly. So the smoother the surface the better, otherwise larger beefier wheels are in order.

My clamp on forks came from Titan. They have a website and sell on eBay. I had a coupon that worked on eBay, so I got them under $100.

Hey! I just ran across this, and except for the 4x4, I've done the exact same thing with my backhoe, with the exact same HFT dollies! (Great minds, right? - lol!) Did you ever consider retracting the arm, locking in the pins, and storing the backhoe that way? Did you decide against it because of the potential for tipover? (Arm extended does appear to be more stable.) Did you end up making the followup video regarding the potential bleed-down, and any subsequent adjustments to the cart? I'll also be checking out the carryall build video you mentioned in the comments. That's also on my to-do list! (Thinking of using the TSC carryall as the skeleton; interested to see what you used!) You have great content -- thanks for taking the time and effort to post your vids!

Hey Tim, I did refer quickly in another video how much the backhoe bled down after 3 days. I've had it off for almost 2 months now with the stabilizers up with no issues. As for the carryall, I did find a couple frames on facebook market place, but ultimately went with TSC for $150. Take Care, Tom

It does over several days. It leans more towards the bucket and stops. No danger of tipping.
