Recently, the Philippine National Railways (PNR) announced the bid for two (2) sets of Diesel Multiple Unit to increase the state railway's current capacity. The company that stood out among the rest was PT Industri Kereta Api (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned rolling stock manufacturer whose product lineup includes EMUs, passenger coaches, and its home-bred, one-of-a-kind Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive (DHL). The trainset is part of the Department of Transportation's Build, Build, Build Project wherein the revival of railway transportation is one of its spearhead projects to alleviate the traffic coming in and out of Metro Manila. With the arrival of the trainsets before the end 2019, passengers can now commute with ease as the train will soon ply the FTI and Malabon routes.
Special thanks to PT INKA, most especially PNR GM Junn B. Magno and Atty. Ces Lauta of PNR-CPD.
