He is indeed alive today, a year on from this clip. He’s had a tough year. But still goi going. He’s my great uncle/grand uncle. On Good Friday many of his more immediate family made the trek to Perth for a group photo or two. I know he would be thrilled and humbled by all the comments here. While not a direct quote, his general attitude is to not just wake each day and be alive but to actively live each day. ❤

Quick note that Gallipoli was fought WW1 not WW2 like the caption implies. This man fought in the first great battle in our sovereign nation’s history. My great uncle fought alongside him, but didn’t make it home.
