First! Nice overview, Ed! I agree with everything you said, so I guess I am doing things correctly. However, I did hit a large rock with my forward tiller and caused some damage. The tines caught the rock and the tiller got pulled down into towards the ground, bent my top link and did some damage to my backhoe hoses. I am glad that was the extent of the damage! Check if your dealer rents them. Mine does - and it was surprisingly affordable as a "one day" rental over a weekend, at least for the RTR0550 they handed me. Even if I rented it once a year it'd take me close to two decades to break even on buying one.

Great video ED. I'm thinking of buying the same tiller for my B2601. The Land Pride site says, "NOTE: Quick-Hitch may require a longer driveline, which is available through Land Pride Parts.". I bought me a tarriver dlt-050 for my bx1880. Unfortunately, it wont align up with my qh05 quickhitch. I guess zif I could have paid $1500 more, I coukd have gotten a landpride that would have been qh compatiable. Its rated for 15-2/ hp, so my bx is just above the minimum hp requirements. 12-20 pto hp, is whaymt dealer told me. Mine is 13.7 pto hp, and 16.6 hp. I'll just take it sliw and easy and hopefully, not run into any rocks or anything else. I need to watch a video to know how to test slip clutch like NeilMessicks said to do. I guess if it seizes up, it could do a lot of damage. I'll post videos once I getthem made later in spring hopefully in coming weeks.

Im clearing some brush to extend my yard for a garden and theres several young trees/ saplings im cutting down with between 1-3 inch diameter. Would this tiller be able to work those out or is it not really made for that type of work. Any recomendations on how to get everything loose for planting.

Hi. Maybe up to 1 inch, but that might even be pushing it. You’d be best to try to remove them with a stump bucket, or backhoe. A stump grinder may also do the trick. Thanks for watching and good luck!

This size tiller is too big for the BX series. But you can get a 48 inch that would work. It’s not uncommon to have the size the driveshaft for your specific tractor. Especially if you are using a quick hitch. If you buy the tiller from your Kubota dealer they may set it up for you. Good luck!

A tiller is not meant to break through solid sod or packed soil. You need to disk that ground first to break it open. Also, any respectable farmer will tell you "don't work wet soil". If you are tilling to dry out your soil, then it's too wet to be on and you are only making the compaction worse. Tractors have been working soil for almost a hundred years before a 4 wheel drive tractor was invented, so obviously if you need that 4 wheel drive to get it done, then you are expecting too much out of your implements.
