She died Nov. 3rd 2017 in her sleep according to what i have Googled. RIP Elizabeth Sullivan! What was your secret to longevity? What was your secret aside from being social and active mentally, physically for so many years? Aside from the Dr. Pepper what did she cook for herself? what did she eat? What groceries did she buy? I understand she did not go to the Dr. except for tonsils and childbirth and did not use any medications that's a big deal. It did not look like she suffered any stress or did not look like she smoked and no depression signs. She looked like she kept her home tidy and clean and uncluttered as well that is healthy as well. she was an intelligent educated lady which helped. Did she watch tv? I know she read books. It looks like her health started to deteriorate after she stopped driving. She stopped driving at 103 -104 she started to receive meals on wheels and stopped cooking for herself? Not being able to drive may have hindered her social, and active life and the ability to grocery shop and prepare healthy meals. and she may have become less mobile physically because she was not active as much. Her change of her diet may have had a deteriorating effect on her. You are what you eat and she was not cooking for herself anymore. I think Aside from the Dr Pepper her cooking and grocery list was also a part of her long life. The body has an amazing way of healing itself so the Dr pepper was insignificant if she kept all of the other things in check. With great respect RIP Elizabeth Sullivan!

If Dr Pepper were pulling the strings on this whole thing, I'm pretty sure the other soda companies would be bringing lawsuits against the news station, Occams razor suggests that this woman is in great health and always has been-apart from her tonsils. Her great health and lifestyle existed before she started drinking the stuff, so it really has nothing to do with Dr Pepper. Despite her hinting at the drink being behind her longevity, she merely enjoys the taste and found she needed some sugar in her diet when she reached her 60s, just to stay more active. I can't blame her for having a little bit of magickal thinking when it comes to the soda, as I too find it is as refreshing as drinking from cupped leaves after a thundering rain.

His and my 100yr great grandmothers ashes has been split scattered with his 18yr brother in Belgium and her 20yr brother whose in the North Sea not far from the Danish Jutland coast where he rests in the sunken HMS Invincible. I drank 3 Dr Peppers a day for 20 years and then a famous celebrity chef in the UK called Jamie Oliver went on a sugar rampage "to save obese children" and removed some of the sugar from the UKs soft drinks. The companies replaced the taste by upping the quantities of sweetener, namely Acesulfame K and Aspartame. My intake instantly spiralled from 3-4 cans a day to 5-6 cans a day which I blame on the addictive sweeteners. I also noticed my health getting worse and worse for no reason until I eventually made the connection. After 6 months of drinking the new "healthy" version I made the decision to quit and drink tea with sugar instead. I felt instantly better. But I really miss Dr Pepper, drinking it was one of lifes little pleasures. It blows my mind that the powers that be allow the sweeteners to replace sugar. The side effects of Acesulfame-K are: "headaches, depression, nausea, mental confusion, liver effects, kidney effects, visual disturbances, and cancer in humans" CANCER IN HUMANS??? YES LET'S GIVE THAT TO OUR CHILDREN. CHEERS JAMIE OLIVER!!!!

Worry and stress kills regardless of what a person eats or drinks. Living a good clean moral life goes a long way for longevity. That means not lying, not cheating people and getting angry at other drivers on the road and shouting obscenities while honking your horn at them. This kind of behavior breaks down the immune system and opens the body up for all kinds of diseases. Also other people can stress you out and break down your immune system. That's a proven fact.

Amazing! Maybe there is something to that Dr. Pepper. One of my grandmothers was what one would call a health nut. Wasn't as much fun as the other one who always had huge sugar cookies and pies, but she always had Dr. Peppers. I seem to remember they had prune juice in them. She always had prunes, real butter and melba toast which I enjoyed. She lived in her own home to age 95 with an excellent memory. Sadly the "fun" grandmother died of a massive heart attack at the age of 69.

Excellent I like Dr.P. but unfortunately nowadays it's not sugar. It's high-fructose corn syrup. In Spain the Coke still has real, local sugar. Dr.P. used to be healthier. Moral of the story: placebo effect. It makes her feel good!

She actually looks good at 104. If she told me she was 104 I would think she was just exaggerating her age. Pretty cool she was still driving.

My family said I drink too much Dr Pepper but I told him it makes me feel better than the medicine I'm on
