I've been trying to decide which side by side to buy, or even find one in stock... for over a year! Today, it's time to make a decision! Will it be the ‪@PolarisORV‬ Ranger SP 570, the ‪@Kubotatractorcorp‬ RTV-XG850, or the ‪@KawasakiUSA‬ Mule Pro MX EPS?
Here are some product suggestions. These are Amazon Affiliate links, so purchasing will help this channel by providing a small commission while not costing you any more. Thank you for your support!

I’ve not driven one of those. Can’t hardly wait for your review. We have a JD 590i Gator in camo with Maxxis Big Horn tires. It rides a smooth as a sailboat on a calm day. I only have one complaint… the bench seat gets warm from the engine… in comfortably so in the summer… and comfortably in the winter. After three years it has only had one breakdown… the parking brake cable broke. But, that was a simple $70 fix. Good luck with your Muley!

My sister has a pioneer and is very happy. It’s nice that the Honda has a transmission vs a belt and torque converter. I don’t know how the newer ones are, but hers it pretty “rattley”. The mule pro mx is tight and smooth. The Kubota sidekick is considerably bigger. I do wish I could spend time with one to really evaluate it. For now, the Mule has been great for me. No regrets. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money for power steering. Thanks for watching and for sharing your comments. -Ed

I really need to edit myself here...SO much to say. The abridged version is GREAT job on the edit Ed (or should I say "EDit")...the footage, cuts and music during the road sequences were super high production value. That said, the beltway traffic gave me PTSD (Post Traffic Stress Disorder) and made my blood pressure jump. IMHO color may not affect performance but there will never come a day that you don't look at it before you drive it so you might as well love it! (I too prefer the green.) Great Video! You answered many of my questions. I'm still in the research mode! Lol! I have two important questions that I consider with every possible UTV. Noise Level & Engine Heat Shielding. Can you carry on a conversation with the passenger? And is there enough heat shielding to prevent a hot seat and hot cab?
@MyClutteredGarage
@MyClutteredGarage 9 ай бұрын
Thanks very much! I have not experienced any issue with excessive heat in the cab although I don’t take long trail rides, I just use it around the farm. You can talk with the passenger while puttering around at low speed but if you’re out on the road or trail going faster than 25 mph, forget it. But honestly, I’m not sure that such a machine exists. I also did a review on the Kubota diesel with full cab. That one is slow but heavy duty, comfortable, and more quiet. Be sure to check out my full review of the mule too. Thanks for watching! -Ed

I added a 2x4 block to the floor for my foot to rest on so I could have the proper angle position for my foot . It’s built so well , so durable and has all the capability you need . I work my property and run the trails with can-ams and Polaris and no problems keeping up . My advise to anyone would be go for the bigger engine when looking at these machines . The mule is a good choice. I have property as well but went with a more expensive model of the Kubota and that's the RTV x-1100c. We live up north, and wanted the enclosed cab and something that could haul and pull heavy stuff. After watching all the You Tube videos of the 1100c pulling bulldozers, 34 foot boats and 2 cars at the same time, I knew it was the one for me. The draw back for the 1100c is the top speed for me is 24-28 mph (28 down a hill) but it is a diesel with a hydrostatic tractor like transmission and has the pulling power of a space shuttle and a cab with heat and even AC. I can't testify personally to longevity as she only has 41 miles / 4 hrs on her right now but the model has been out for 20 years now relatively unchanged and everyone swears by them. Next one I get will not be a replacement for the rtv 1100c but rather an addition as a gas model (be it Kubota, Kawasaki, Polaris or another brand) in order to get the higher speeds. In the end I think the RTV 1100c being diesel, bullet proof, tried, true and tested is ideal for homesteads or farms but not ideal for zipping around on trails. Hope this comment helps someone. Gratz on the Mule😁 my man, I'm sure it's awesome!

Gas pedal is a terrible flawed design should be a RECALL or a class action lawsuit on Kubota! The parking brake should be located in the middle of the seat area! I had a UTV for a while. It was great out on trails and doing stuff offroad in the mountains, but sucked for actual utility purposes around the yard...very bloated bed capacity that Yamaha boasted about...yeah 500-700lbs in the bed as long as you wanted to lift it yourself to dump it. Didn't have a way to unlock the rear differential, so it would quickly destroy your lawn when trying to use it for utility functions around the property. Had enough power, Yamaha never really did much in the way of updates to them, and at the time they were mediocre in the power comparison between other manufacturers. Would I buy a UTV now...no, if I were to spend that kind of money I'd rather have one of the many mini-truck options by Diahatsu, Subaru, Suzuki, etc. With them you get a cab, and heater at least, some come with AC, many are equipped with a manual transmission, a longer more usable convertible bed, some are optioned with a locking differential, but most important they come with a cab, no additional add on cost they're about $22-27k, but look at a UTV with a cab and you are pushing $30k, and Polaris is at $33k for a cab equipped model in 3 seat configuration, $37k for a 6 seat configuration with heat and AC. I was looking at a Diahatsu 4x4 "extended cab" with a dump bed a while back for $23k...dump bed function was setup with hydraulics like a regular dump trailer/dump truck would be, and the hydraulic pump powered from a PTO on the vehicle. I like the convertible bed idea most, flip the sides down and you have an instant flatbed to easily load and unload pallets, and other materials, put the sides up and you have a normal bed. I don't necessarily need the AC equipped model, but that was part of the $23k purchase price. 5 speed manual transmission, heat, AC, locking rear differential, etc. I like the cab idea with a mini-truck, with my Yamaha Rhino it sucked having to get out in bad weather with it, and none of the cab parts available fit very well, so there were tons of leaks so I skipped that ridiculously priced add-on. Most of these mini-trucks are running a 660cc gas engine. Occasionally you will find some with diesel engines, but people don't get rid of them, and they usually sell out before they ever hit the dealer website. Payload is around 1500-1800lbs depending on make/model, towing is around 2,000lbs again depending on make and model. I'd get quite a bit of use from one on my small property...not sure I'd want to drive one at the 65mph+ rated speed though LOL.
@MyClutteredGarage
@MyClutteredGarage 2 жыл бұрын
I like those mini trucks too. If I had bigger acreage, I'd really like one. I ruled out the Honda Pioneer 700 because you can not unlock the differential. It's only been a few days but I'm 90% happy with this UTV. And I don't think there is one out there that would be exactly what I would want. I wouldn't want it any wider, but a little longer would be nice. Thanks for watching! I'll make another video about it soon. -Ed

@rdb-pc4sp 4 ай бұрын
Comparing mini trucks and UTVs is apples and oranges. The trucks are worthless for trail riding. You mentioned issues with yard damage on a side by side but the standard wheels on mini trucks would carve up a property, especially if you plan to load them near the weights you mention. Maybe your reference to a yard is a place of business? As a job site yard truck a Daihatsu would be great.

Thanks for watching. This was more of a vlog style video. But you might enjoy my actual review of the mule here. Cheers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIaun2xndr1_fqc

@@MetaView7 I had a month long wait when I ordered my Kubota BX2680. Wasn't worried, I've only wanted/needed a tractor on the property for 30 years so what was another month LOL.

I was aware of them, but I was limiting my search to more well known brands. My friend has one and it's very nice!

My 2022 sidekick is junk. Bad Gas and water contamination of the crankcase oil. Been in the shop a month now with a warranty claim and dealer can not get help from the kubota rep to find the problem and a solution. Seems the 850 engines have a problem that can only be solved by throwing parts at them and Kubota is ignoring that. Don't waste your money on the sidekick look for a side by side from a reputable company that specializes in them. My buddybought a Ranger when I bought the sidekick and he has had zero problems and at 25 hours mine has been ib the shop a month with Kubota not caring..

That’s unfortunate. The sidekick engine was made by Subaru so you’d think it would be really good. I’ve heard about issues of gasoline being drawn into the crank case. I’ve had the mule for quite a while and I’m very happy with it.

Just thought I would warn others comparing machines. I actually should have bought a Mule. It's no longer a subrau engine, mine was built by Kubota I understand after the buyout@@MyClutteredGarage
