I bought a new Polaris just like yours back in 2014 and had two big problems with it. Something in steering system made a terrible noise occasionally and like yours they could never find a problem, would not make noise for them. And something in rear drive system was messed up. They finally repaired it. Been a while so I can’t remember what it was. Got sick of new machine with these kind of problems. Took it to another dealer that sold Kawasaki and traded it on a Kawasaki mule and am still running it today with not one problem in 8 years.

We bought a new XP900 in 2019 and have had nothing but problems from the get go. It started with drive train noise took it back to the dealer and they had it for a week and replaced the front differential and still made same noise. The owner of dealership called me and said there was nothing more he could do for me and he was sending back to us. Took it to a different dealership and the service manager and I went for a test drive and after 2 miles of driving it, he told me that was just the way it is, some make noise and some don't. I called Polaris corporate and talked to a factory service rep and he acted like he could do nothing for me. I called back 4 more times to see if I could get the problem resolved. They finally got tired of me and gave me 3 years extended warranty for no charge. 2 years ago I started experiencing a cold start engine rattle and took it back to the second dealership and they kept it overnight so the could hear it the next morning. Called me and said they couldn't hear anything and not to worry because it still was under warranty. I still have it and still has cold start rattle. The bottom line is Polaris could give 2 shits about there products! Think I will sell it and buy a CAN AM!

Former service employee here I’ve worked for a lot of the major brands they all have issues like this that we can’t replicate reason normally being because we can’t use the machine under the same exact conditions as you when your having the issue so unless it’s more obvious it can actually be hard to get to the bottom of especially if you don’t have a good service department working on it. To there defense tho I can almost guarantee they told you before you even left it there that in the event they could not replicate the issue that you would be charged a one hour diagnostic fee it’s required by law in most states that they do so. This is not a Polaris issue you won’t find a TSB from engineering on it and you won’t find another video of the same problem because it’s a flook issue probably stemming from the way it was being driven just judging off my experience. You could also very possibly have a lose clamp next to that tire that clap is a expansion clamp and as it heats up it gets tighter if it wasn’t torqued correctly it may not be expanding enough to close the gap and as a result leaking hot gas at your tire.

Unfortunately, I’m stuck with it. The problem never went away, we just take it easy and don’t go for extremely long drives with it. If you run it for 10 or 15 minutes, you can smell rubber burning and feel an amazing amount of heat coming off of it.

@LazyDWorx Жыл бұрын
Looks like there would be enough room to wrap the exhaust pipe with a header wrap which would keep the exhaust heat inside the exhaust system instead radiating to your tire. Additionally, looks like the spark arrestor in still in the end of the exhaust pipe, you could try removing it as a diagnostic test to see if the exhaust is a bit too restrictive, there is a service interval for cleaning the spark arrestor. Definitely doesn’t feel good to not get any support from your local dealer. Unfortunately I have heard too many stories like yours with all different kinds of power sports dealers.

I have always had the opinion that those who sell warranties are just the same as a bookie, they set the line where the house wins. Warranties are basically insurance, don't buy unless the potential lost value would be life changing. As for the issue, I am thinking that there is an engine issue of some sort...that its running too hot? I have the same machine (non crew) but the exhaust shielding setup is identical. My 2021 has 3,500 trouble free miles on but I don't have anything close to the heat that must be making, have you run it hot at night? ...with those temps my bet it would glow red, that would be a good pic to send Polaris (deal direct not through dealer btw). Its either running real lean or perhaps you have a blockage with the spark arrestor, try taking that out and test maybe? All machines have their issues, its the people that suck sometimes...good luck.

I did my research and compared the various brands and models. I don't need to drive 40+ mph and I wanted a diesel and hydrostatic drive. I cannot stand belt drive as it is prone to a number of problems. I also wanted a real, air tight cab with air-conditioning as I keep a large number of beehives and it can get pretty hot at times. The AC and saved me from heat stroke a couple of times. I purchased a Kubota RTVX-1100C. I love the machine, next to my Dodge Cummins 2500 4 x 4, it is one of the best purchases of a new item in my 60+ years. For farm use, the Kubota RTVX is a much better choice in my opnion as it can carry upto 3500 lbs. in the hydraulic dump bed. It is not the fastest machine out there but having all of my farm equipment diesel powered is important and reliability & usefulness is essential. Sorry you are having problem with your Polaris. I looked at them and they just did not appear well built at all in my opinion.

Oh the joys of KZbin! Anyone can make a video to complain about something. Yet, you fail to give enough information. What was the ambient air temp? What was the tire inflated to? How much weight were you carrying? How many miles did you drive? It's doubtful the burning rubber smell is from the tire. It's more likely the belt, which is normal for a new machine. It's also normal during regular use if you are loaded heavy or pulling hills. Too many people now just don't have the knowledge of how things work or the laws of physics. I will agree that Polaris has gone crazy with their pricing. But, as long as people put money down and then wait 6 months to get their machine they will continue to have crazy prices! I bought a 2017 Ranger XP1000 in October 2017. It's been one of the best investments I've ever made.
