I show how to calibrate the temperature sensor settings on the Sofrin SP10 pro and i explain why you might want to do that. Anduril 2 is confusing at first, but once you understand it, this whole process can be done in a couple of minutes or less. If you don't like the complexity, the light starts off in a simple mode.

Thank you David. Yes, with the magic of editing, anyone can look like a pro. Throw a knife at a target, miss 100 times, but keep that last perfect hit & show only it. 😆

See that's very handy, to show how it works. That works a lot better then reading the manual over and over. Thank you William.

Reading the manual with a magnifying glass 🔍, still confused, watch KZbin videos about it, more confused...😆

@@WilliamsKnifeLife Yeah, some manuals are like Ikea furniture; missing parts and holloring through the hallway.

Thank you Gazz. I've always liked a more accurate gauge, like how hot is my radiator, not all of a sudden a red light comes on as your radiator boils over.

Appreciate the walk-through and explanation. I just received the SP36 Pro, and the video that the Sofirn website points to uses the diagram for the SC21 Pro manual, which doesn't work for the SP36 Pro that I received. The diagram for your other manual (SP10 Pro) is the one that worked. Like you said, one can't fiddle around. You have to know exactly what needs to be done, and the speed of the clicks has to be just right. It finally all worked out, and your video helped save me a lot of headache. Thanks.

I'm glad it helped you Coco Joe. I almost returned my SC21 Pro because I couldn't get it out of Muggle Mode following the instructions. They are good flashlights, but the manuals could use some updates.

They do have a lot of features. Most people wouldn't use all of them, but it's nice to have the option.

I still remember being frustrated the first time I tried to figure out how to set up the Anduril flashlight especially at that time I had 2 flashlights with different Anduril versions Sofirn IF25A with Anduril 1 and SC31 Pro with Anduril 2. But now I have memorized how to find out the version of Anduril, how to set the temperature, how to set the manual memory mode, how to set aux light, how to set floor and ceiling because those are the basic things you can do to make the most of Anduril flashlight.

Thank you. Yes, after practice, it isn't difficult to set these up. I like the range of things they can do with Anduril.

I have to question any flashlights having so many features to control it, confuses the purpose of a flashlight. I think this video provides excellent information on reasons for people wanting the features and ones who do not. 🐯😱😨

Thank you Gizmo. Yes, you have to memorize sequences that are usually just for that brand of flashlight, or sometimes a particular model. 3 clicks could be used to take it out of lockout or turn on a strobe, depending upon which flashlight you have.

Your SC21 Pro is different from your SP10 Pro because the manual was printed incorrectly for the SC21 Pro. Your SC21 Pro is still Anduril 1. The diagram is correct in the manual, but the print is wrong saying it's Anduril 2. Which you may found out by now. They only just recently updated the SC21 Pro to Anduril 2. Not sure if they shipped corrected manuals or not. LOL And I'm sure both variants are still out there, so one would have to verify with the seller on which one you are going to receive. Either one is excellent. Changing the voltage calibration to something other than the correct voltage does nothing except report the wrong voltage. It will not make the light any brighter and may possibly drain the battery to too low of a voltage and damage the cell. So set it correctly and then leave it alone. I have several of each of these two lights and many other lights that run Anduril. I set all my lights to 55C and I'm comfortable with that. 60C starts to get too hot to hold. With the SP10 Pro set at 55C and using it in 70-72° F temperatures it will run turbo for just under 4 minutes before it starts to step down, which is quite decent. It has been my EDC since I got it. With Anduril 2 you can do a long hold when doing calibrations and programming. A long hold would be about a second to a second and a half. It's equal to 10 quick presses. Much easier to count. So 2 long presses and 5 quick presses would equal 25 presses. Also unlocking your SP10 Pro can be done with 3, 4, or 5 clicks with each one doing something differently on how the light unlocks and turns on. 3 clicks the light will unlock and stay off. 4 clicks will unlock and come on at the memorized level. If you have your light set to always come on at a fixed level, it will use that, otherwise it will come on at the last used level. 5 clicks will unlock and come on at the highest ramping/stepped output. So that depends on how you set the ceiling of smooth ramp or stepped mode. They can be different from each other. And 4 clicks and hold on the 4th click will unlock and come on at moonlight level. If you already knew this stuff, I apologize for the long explanation. But if you didn't, now you know a little more about Anduril 2. I highly recommend downloading the text manual on Anduril 2. It contains everything Anduril 2 is capable of even if your light isn't. I've been using Anduril for many years now and occasionally I still have to look up something unusual.

Thank you for the information. I keep finding things by accident with Anduril. I love that program. It is nice when other flashlights use it as you don't have to memorize a different sequence. I don't change my temperatures now. I looked at the maximum operating temperatures of lithium batteries, and most don’t go over 60c. The most useful thing I find in Anduril is the battery voltage check. I like the other Anduril features, which i mostly just play with.

@@WilliamsKnifeLife I use candle mode a lot !!! Anduril is my favorite UI for a light! You can make it operate exactly like you want it to, or very close to it. If you want a simple low, medium, and high output, just set it to stepped mode and set for 4 steps. That way you have a moonlight, low, medium, and high output. You get to choose what level moonlight you want and set the ceiling at maximum output. Not one of my lights are set this way though!! LOL People look at the Anduril diagram and think "this is crazy ". The problem is that they are looking at the whole diagram all at once. That's not what you should do! You need to look at it in sections. Find the section you want and follow the arrows back to "off" and do what they instruct you to do to get to that section, ignore everything else. It looks complicated when you look at the whole picture, but looking at the whole picture is the wrong way to look at it. It has to be looked at in sections. I hope that makes sense to someone. Once you know Anduril, it's really quite intuitive. It's a work of genius. When I get a new light with Anduril, I let it acclimate to room temperature and the first thing I do is calibrate it to that temperature. It needs to be done quickly as the light will start to heat up internally just by letting it blink out voltage. Granted it won't be much, but if you want to be accurate you need to skip right past voltage check and get right to temp check and start the calibration process ASAP. It's 3 clicks (this is battery check), wait a second or two, then 2 clicks (this is temp check), wait a second again, then 7 clicks and hold on the 7th (this puts you in calibration mode). That first flash is easy to miss as it happens IMMEDIATELY so let go almost immediately (if you held for 2 seconds or more, you missed the first flash), then click in the room temperature in Celsius while the light is flickering. When done, just wait for the light to go back to temp check and let it blink out the temperature. It's the same procedure for setting the thermal limit except now you hold on the 7th click for about 2-3 seconds for that second flash. Let go and click however many degrees above 30°C you want it to be. 15 clicks for 45°, 20 clicks for 50°, 25 clicks for 55° (131°F). You can click 23 times for 53°C if you like. NOTE: If you think you missed the flash, DON'T DO ANYTHING, (it's really easy to miss the first one because it happens immediately on the 7th click and hold), just wait for it to exit out and nothing will change. No harm done. Then just do it again. I then set moonlight and ceiling for both smooth ramp and stepped mode. Both of those modes are independent from each other and can be set to different moonlight and ceiling levels. And I usually use 5, 6 or 7 steps for stepped mode. It depends how powerful the light is. And I usually set it up to come on at the same output level every time I turn it on. That way there's no surprises. But some of my older Anduril lights don't have that option. It all takes about 3-4 minutes. I also don't mind Sofirns regular UI. Olight, Thrunite and Wurkkos all have a good UI's.
