Why not sit on the hire? What other options does he have? *Maybe a Pete Carroll staff. Why not fire McCarthy in season to give Shotty a test run? No vision. 4 known interviews. 2 of which are in house names. Why not cast a wide net like other teams? Are Jerry & company looking for a short term deal, less than 3 years? With this hire you are keeping the OC, who didn’t call plays, from the previous staff who didn’t get a new contract- walked.

The Cowboys needed a second interview with BS because they didn't talk to him the last 2 years He was in the building. He has Dave Campos old office in the basement so outside of the mailroom guys and Mike McCarthy, no one knew he was there. Even saves Jerry the cost of a plane ticket to interview and hire a guy in the building. Makes perfect sense to me. 😅😢

Not against drafting an elite QB high. But I don’t get this fairy tale idea that this will solve our problem. We have had Romo/Dak for like 20 years and they are both more than talented/capable of being part of a team that makes it to a NFC Championship game and neither has got there. Meanwhile loads of other organizations with the same or worse QBs have accomplished this feat. Sure, we could luck into a Mahomes/Allen/Burrow number 1 overall in a draft. But if not - it’s more than likley we will end up with a good franchise QB who is very similar in skill to Romo/Dak, who have been great franchise QBs. In other words, the hope for bottoming out wouldn’t be for the draft pick to get a QB. It would be the hope that they change course on their GM roster building strategies and HC strategy. Otherwise this is all a moot point, getting a high draft pick for a QB isn’t what’s going to save this franchise from the abyss.
