I have never really watched a video on gyro's, this was pretty enlightening. I would love to own one of these, heli's have their own characteristics and qualities, but the gyro is really forgiving and would be ideal for just cruising locally or sight seeing. Knowing the rotor doesn't need to be under power, and you can float down to land safely if anything ever went wrong with the motor is such a piece of mind. Really great to watch these. Also knowing you can get licensed with minimal amounts of hours is also key.

Great vid of the first step to becoming a pilot. That looked easier than learning to drive a manual car with a column shift. Jeremy with a great big proud dad grin.

So very cool! I have a PPL with rotorcraft endorsement (I fly an R44 and R22), what would I need to do to fly a gyro?
@AdventureAirАй бұрын
It's just an add on rating like getting a tail wheel endorsement. You have to show proficiency with us and we can sign you off. The training also counts as a biennial. Expect to need about 10 hours to get checked out.

I would love to take some lessons as it looks so much fun, but watching all these videos I find the most difficult/intimidating part (in theory) seems to be the communication! I can barely make out a word spoken over the radios. Maybe that's an accent thing, though! (I'm Scottish) 😂

You can do it here easy enough. Just cannot insure them so going solo you have to own your own generally.

How about a video in a different model of gyro? Do you have access to an Argon? EVO? Thanks! I think it’s getting close to time for me to come see you!

Ok, that is so cool. First time I hear that when rotor reaches about 300RPM the front lifts, accelerate and it flies that is very very cool. Why the severe stick shake?

@AdventureAir4 ай бұрын
Well, we are an AutoGyro dealer so we are biased toward them. AutoGyro is the only gyroplane manufacturer that is a USA type certified gyro. We have a good support network for parts and mechanics. Argon is experimental only and they have some challenges getting parts to the USA as their factory is in Poland. The Cavalon flies better IMHO.

@@AdventureAir next question as a fixed wing pilot ... average amount of flight time with you for gyro endorcment ??
@AdventureAir4 ай бұрын
@@larry444l3 While we've had students show proficiency in as little as 5 hours of instruction, expect anywhere between 8-12 hours for an add on rating. The checkride also counts for a biennial review.

The five variables to Airline Pilot Hiring are: Courtship, Fellowship, Relationship, Kinship, and Marriage. Now throw in the Equal Employment Opportunity Act just so qualified white guys can't get hired before qualified minorities are exhausted. 🥸🧑✈👩✈👨✈
