I have to agree with you, I’m recently back from my first visit to the Forest of Dean, and it’s now my favourite part of the country. I was based in Coleford, and as a non driver, found the 22 and 23 buses took me to all my planned trips. I’m already planning my return next year. Your videos have given me more ideas, thank you.

Another lovely video from the area where we used to live. Very interesting to hear about Devils chapel. Memories of attending St James. Where we lived at Sling we had wonderful views of the Forest overlooking Bream, Yorkley and Pillowell. Thank you for your brilliant video's.

Really?I lived there for a while and recall lots of gossiping old snoopers who used to hang around places like Treharnes(sp?)the old newsagents not far from the Centotaph. Granted the setting is great,wouldnt deny that.

Lovely to see a summery walk in beautiful countryside after the snow and ice we have been having for the last few days. Would love to visit the Forest of Dean again but watching your videos is a pleasant way to see it without leaving the house.

What a lovely film. A great village and walk,you've shown us some lovely villages and places over the films,some of the little villages are like a part of England we thought we had lost,from times gone by,imagine being lucky enough to live in a place like that,especially if it had some of the old pubs like the Blue Ball that you've shown us,I liked the Devil's Chapel,it was very eerie,it reminded me of Luds Church at the Roaches where I'v been,and where you visited in a previous film. I'm glad I watched the early episodes with Michael and Nigel otherwise I'd think you were being serious with some of your comments. Well Patrick I'm up to date until you get round to editing and posting 110,I shall look forward to that. Having watched just a few selective films,in the new year when I was at home a lot I decided to start at number one and watch the lot,I'v now watched every minute of every one of the films you've shared and it's been an absolute pleasure,I'v loved every second of it,better than anything on the tv,and I'v always looked forward to the next,the timing couldn't have been more perfect as I'm going away tomorrow,I feel I have got to know you as a friend,the sign of an exceptional presenter,I won't go into everything I think about the aspects of the films and hard work you put into them,I think you know that by now,but I just want to say thank you so much they have been superb,if ever I'm out and about on my own walks,and am lucky enough to bump into you,I would love to say hello in person,but not in a Phil Day sort of way ! Enjoy your break,and when you find time to edit and complete the footage you have saved I will look forward to enjoying any new films. Thankyou again for all your hard work and for sharing,take care,and bye for now. Pete.

Thank you so much Pete, Devil's Chapel was a real treat especially bearing in mind it is not advertised as a tourist attraction - you have to know where to find it. I am so grateful to you for watching every single film, I only know of a couple of other viewers who have done that, so it is much appreciated. Film no.110 will (hopefully) be posted in the next day or so, then I've still many others to edit after that. It would be a real pleasure to bump into you when I'm out and about. I hope you have a fantastic holiday Pete, you certainly deserve it. All the best to you. Cheers, Patrick :)

@@solitaryrambler Great news that you have more to edit and upload,I'll really look forward to that when I get back,would you believe I watched the pilot again last night ! It's been a real pleasure,honestly. Have loved every minute of every one of them. All the best matey 😊 Enjoy your break. Pete.

That was, as per usual a real treat. I have relatives who live in Gloucester (Abbeymead) and they have brought us out to the Forest of Dean on several occasions and it is really lovely. You mentioned Puzzlewood, I remember taking my kids there years ago and it was fabulous, just an incredible landscape and it made for a lovely day out. I have to say the musical score was exceptional and just suited the video to a tee. You looked like you hit the jackpot with the weather that day too!!
@solitaryrambler4 жыл бұрын
Good to know Jeff. I've never been to Puzzlewood myself. I had hoped to film there back in 2018 when i did this one, but a cost would have been involved and filming is not allowed without special permission. At least I was able to film Devil's Chapel and it was free! Glad you liked the musical score. I certainly was lucky with the weather as I recall this was the last day in a bunch of films I had shot down there before returning home afterwards 👍

@@solitaryrambler Puzzlewood is well worth a look. We certainly enjoyed it and would definitely return next time we are in the area, when ever that will be who knows due to lockdown number two.

Hi, Patrick. An option for retirement maybe? I lived in Cheltenham for many years and spent a huge amount of time in "The Forest". Walking, cycling, camping, all over. I'm retired now and in Devon with a sea view from the room where I'm writing this but I still enjoy your treks which take me back. With my offspring still in the area, I'm seriously planning a week or so retracing old steps this year.
