I had to search this one. It used to be the case that Verado was specifically the outboard lineup with the supercharged 2.6L inline six engine, or 1.7L supercharged inline four engine on the lower horsepower models. Mercury should have stuck to that. Now? Verado could now be a multitude of engines and unless you refer to a specific horsepower model, it could the supercharged inline six. But if not, then it could be a V6, V8, supercharged V8, V10, or even the big boy V12, ALL DEPENDING on the horsepower number. See what I mean? This one in particular, confirmed, 2.6L supercharged inline six. Why Mercury? Why now if I want the inline six do I only get it with 400 horsepower? What if I want 300 horsepower and the inline six because I have a boat that can't handle 400 horsepower? You're telling me I can have 300 horsepower, but not with the inline six engine? Only with a V8 engine? Why Mercury? Apologies for that rant. With that done and out of the way, UNREAL! Every outboard with it's weight and horsepower output mandates a boat that can handle it. I never imagined a 20 ft boat could handle that kind of power and that kind of weight on the back (668 pounds) at this speed, without flipping over or losing control. And yet this thing is HAULING and it isn't even a dedicated race setup. Defies all logic I thought I had. UNREAL!

Congrats on making the 100mph club!!! The width on your Lake & Bay makes for quite a stable ride. Getting past 100mph on water isn't easy and takes so much hp. Back in the early 2000s a customer at our marina had a 22ft catamaran flats boat with twin 300 Black max on it and it could do 140+mph. It felt like 200mph the time I rode in it.

@anonymousf454 Yes, it had two hulls. Any speed over 50mph could result in the vessel flipping over, depending on sea conditions. Damage would depend on a number of factors. That vessel was built with speed in mind and was quite strong. Still, hiting the water at high speed is like hitting concrete.

I have a 2016 20 lake and bay custom lightweight deck with a 225 sport 1.62 Sporty it’s hitting 74 at 5800 rpm it scares the heck out of me running the boat at those speeds but these guys are on another level man lol LOVE IT!!!

Those are definitely impressive numbers... when I was a kid, I had the pleasure of doing 93 mph on a 17ft nitro bass boat on a calm river. What's your fuel burn like? Owner should consider putting some lips on the front deck to shape the air coming off and maybe something in front of the console. Aerodynamics are slowing you down maybe 5-10 mph.

By the time I saw it, it was too late to get out of it cuz it would drop the bow. Needless to say NASA owes me a patch, because I've been to space and somehow lived.

A hemelt can really hurt you more without a hans device to go with it and you never want to be harnessed or strapped in unless you are in an enclosed canopy where you can bounce around. Best thing that can happen is you fly right off the boat, with the right Life Line Jacket and a good set of balls nothing will happen😂😂

That's impressive for a 20 flats skiff. I know Lake and Bay makes some fast hulls. However, this is not something that I would recommend doing on a regular basis. Your luck is gonna run out one day and hopefully you'll survive the crash. Even coming off the throttle quickly at that speed would throw you out of the boat.

I grew up in key largo, my old boss had a lake and bay with a 2.5 drag on it. He used it for fishing tournaments, let's just say he had more fishing time than the other guys. He said it ran about 100.
