Hazel was born in June. Other than the chickens that came in due to a barn fire last week, no new animals have come in.

Can anyone here give me some advice. There is standing water puddles in my chickens run from the rain. We have hard clay soil. What can I put down that will work during summer and winter? Hay did not work it just smelled really bad.

The best way would be to lay out a good landscape fabric or geotextile across the area of concern then top the area with quarter-down or pit-run gravel. Hope it helps.

Why you won't put all the horses together so they can make a herd in the yard.

The donkeys need time to get use to their new environment. They would not go into the shelter with the others at this point and would end up standing out in the cold all winter. Up front they have their own shelter.

Steve passed away a few months ago at the end of the summer, not sure why but he was able to live a few months longer than he would have out in the wild.
