So many years ago a lonely awkward 17 yo kid heard this song on an old FM radio. It exposed a very painful realization of lost love and broken dreams of youthful bliss. It had a truly emotional impact when played and created an almost drug-like effect that soothed the soul. That kid is now a weary aged traveler still on that road seeking those distant dreams in the mist that keeps getting thicker. This excellent edit gives that legendary recording its due!

The 1950s 60s 70s was unique to Boomers in so many wonderful ways. Our Southern colored peoples gave birth to Music heard around the world. We called it Rock & Roll. Those three decades were "ours" and never again to be repeated or replaced. We'll take these glorious tunes with us to the grave. And then everyone left over can boggie on down the highway to Rap.

1975: I was 12 years old that summer; my mom had died almost 4 years prior; my family had descended into chaos as a result and because my dad had crawled into a liquor bottle. I honestly can remember an exact moment in time hearing this song for the first time, right down to the room, and even the chair I sat in. I remember that this song somehow spoke directly to me summing up my grief, loneliness and confusion as to why life had to suck so bad; why did God have to take my momma; and, why didn’t anyone see me anymore? This song still has the same power to reduce me to tears even now as I write this ~ but blurry eyed, runny nose and all, I welcome it because it’s as close to my memories of my mom as I can get, if that makes any sense. 💫Peace all ✨

I do not think there is a single track made in the days which followed the end of the 70's which can trigger an emotional response in me, which even comes close the power of this magical track. I swear to the core, that if I ever suffered a mishap where paramedics were attempting to "jump start" my beats, and they were unsuccessful, I guarantee You, just as sure as fresh shit sticks to a cotton blanket, that if those medics had the resources and fired up THIS song...As in... "...Nurse!! ...We are losing Him!!!...Prepare 10cc of love, I will administer directly to the heart, via the Ear Canal above the carotid artery... " I am certain many people who lived and loved in the days when this track was shelling the airwaves may very well have been at great risk for a myocardial infarction, but I believe this was a case where the cause and cure were one and the same!!!

I was 3 when this was released. As I got older, I became more and more intrigued with it. It almost seemed hypnotic. Fast forward 30 years later and a drug addiction. I'd lay on my bedroom floor and just play this. The "hiss" and the bridge just took me away. Now sobered up, it still mesmerized me.

OK, I was born in the 40's beat as a child in the 50's, gang violence as a teen mid 60's, went to Vietnam and had my lung shot of my chest late 60's, became a heroin addict after too much morphine in the 70's, but some how I found love, managed to have 3 beautiful daughters, 3 grandkids and lived happily ever after... so no more crying people, you only have one life... live the #&@* out of it!

So, when I first heard this song in 1975, I had just gotten a new 1975 emerald green Eldorado. My best girlfriend and I took a ride to Miami, from Brooklyn, NY, to break the car in. Plus, my sister had just passed away and I wanted to get away. Well, I loved this song so much, that I played it over and over and over again all the way to Miami. ALL THE WAY!! I swear to you I did! On the way back, I played, "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", by Elton John. Those two songs were my very favorites, and still are. Whenever I hear, "Im Not In Love", I just stop what Im doing and listen to it with as much love for it as I had in 1975. It was a great treat for me to hear this long version of the song. Thanks for the memory...(which will never die).

Hi I am writing from Guayaquil Ecuador west south America. I have heard this song in 1975 I was 17, how much I am recalling my first share in this moment, as the story you have told in the headline, I never had to see again in my life my first love in my life since she been gone . Well maybe, she passed away from me me forever... as always used to be in this cases..... Ever is the the same old song This is the most beautiful song from the last century in the wide world, every time this song is sounding in the radio any country, the use people sings and dream once again like in 1975 and no matter the idiom we used to talk , always will be the moment to remember somebody else from the faded years from all those years ago.. like the first love. But in fact, the thing is that we are getting back to all those lost ages, and this it not only for me. Is to every one who is here bewitched listening to this wonderful musical work from the year 1975 made by 10 cc How wonderul all of this is it... Thanks to everyone of you; I give you in this computer message issued from Western South America from somebody who lived in this ages... But I understood that the Show have to must go on , with the same persons, an actors who made the histories of love with a differents lovers in a differents moments... and years.. Thank you, thank you very much for have made this marvelous extended version, near of 45 years later from the original track Pierre who lives in Guayaquil Ecuador west south America Carry me back to Guayaquil in the middle of the 70S, carry me back to my first love.. Carry me to Milda; how much I missed you Milda in this age !!! now that you have not meaning in my life.... And no matter with who are living close to me or to you to this date, is a sacred person and we know it , the thing is to gives to one respect to that person one day we loved. No matter with I live by now or you by now, no matter who are our mates really now.. the thing the time that we spent one day 45 years ago, I was 17 years, you were 23 old , now I am going to 62 and you to 67 years old But the question is!!!. why the big boys has use cry ever. and the bad girls ??? From Pierre who lives in Guayaquil Ecuador. MUCHAS GRACIAS
