Never knew these existed! Makes great sense as my backup is 1tb 2.5"hdd usb3 which is sealed up. This would be great device with fast data flow and easy to upgrade. Thanks for the review Mike and Kath👍 stay warm!

Just bought something similar for migrating an old SSD over to an NVME drive for my daughter's laptop. Everybody should have one of these in their toolkit, so handy to have and a better option for backups than the PCIE option. 25 quid is a decent price when you take into account the presentation and the extra kit you get with it, nice one Orico 🙂 Thanks for the review, Mike and Kath.

although we have the hubs and other docks sometimes the single cable portable approach is really handy and well er --- portable 😂

I have an Orico m.2 USB 3.1 (10Gbps) (USB-C)enclosure, not the same model as the one you present here and it works good. Really useful for sure 😀

Hi, Mike. I've had an NVMe M.2 enclosure for about a year. Mine is a SSK brand and I have a 1tb Samsung 970 EVO Plus in it. I use it to backup my novel manuscripts. They are very handy.

So, if I have a 500GB m.2 drive as my C drive, could I use this enclosure, purchase a 1TB m.2 drive and clone my C drive to the larger drive and then install the larger drive in my PC as the new C drive? With m.2 prices falling a bit, I'd like a bigger C drive and then I could put the smaller drive in my second m.2 slot or probably just use it in this new enclosure as a portable drive. Thanks for the review.

Thats exactly what I did dude, I use Macrium to clone my smaller M.2 onto a 1TB one and it was done in next to no time at all :)

Good informative video Mike.That enclosure looks a neat compact component.l have the Pluggable M.2 NVME drive enclosure,and a Silverstone M.2 SSD enclosure,and l think they’re nice parts both to look at and also handy to put in your pocket anytime you think the need to 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They also have the cheapest option too. I got the Orico PWM2-G2 model. Also rated at 10Gbps. But it only has a USB-C to USB-C cable. I got mine for 5 USD.

I was considering buying one of these just to clone my existing (512GB) M.2 system drive in my PC on to a bigger (1TB) M.2 drive to give me more space to play with. My question is do I have to adhere the thermal pad and metal heat sink to it in order to clone to it, given that I will then be taking the 1TB cloned drive immediately back out of this enclosure again so it can go into my PC?

No should be fine without it, maybe leave it open to let air get to it

That is USB 2.0 speeds! Change to a usb 3.0/3.1 (10Gbps) port or cable (keep in mind not all cables are 3.0/3.1)
