The pace ramps up as all four teams complete their builds in the final days of the competition. Some teams finish early and hit the dyno while others are turning wrenches until the bell rings. Will the big-blocks make big numbers or will the junkyard LS engines prove superior? We'll find out in the final episode leading up to the race in Norwalk.

Checking your balancer to true tdc of your piston is BASIC engine building .

Grant Jury I think what happened it’s a gen 6 7.4 454 and the balancer is different which threw them off for tdc. Lol I like how he welded the bolt on the flywheel. Sweet show

lol i give up trying and im twining ( dodge big block 383 with modern gm lsx fuel injection + 8 coils 76-70 trubos ) mine because you can o most draw the power curve and it makes more power especially with ALS systems and A/C powered water chiller lowing engine intake air temps but i do have a soft spot for a 8-71 blower just as a " old school thing "

kzbin.info?search_query=killer+chiller+dyno+results / killer chiller basically the same thing as the new dodge demons after chiller or look up high pressure ( more than 450-1500 psi a/c side on mine im ruining compressed CO2 and mineral oil ( my older style A/C compressor can't handle pag oil long term plus its like brake fluid as it likes water and doesn't lubricant as well and eats the seals out if you have a newer non twin v / 210 york pump system this doesn't apply to you ) instead of R12 so my system is more eco friendly and efficient ( full on ~ 9KW / 12hp = 7 something cfm vs new deso at 5 something cfm but pretty much the same HP to drive it, its been awhile since I looked it up from the manufactures ) but that means i have higher hot side pressures for the same KW of heat extraction vs R134a + pag oil or the now illegal r12 + mineral based oil type in the USA ) plate chillers some of them are used for brewing beer wart and the water antifreeze mix side is lower pressures ( under 30~ PSI and don't let it freeze up on mine the lowest i can get to is -15~ F and you mite have to set yours higher or have a way of deiceing it on mine i use higher % methanol to chemically deice my intake pathway just like some small aircraft ) that goes to your water / ice tank and you will need a extra tee fittings to tap into the a/c lines after the dryer and before the pump plus a extra expansion / bypasse ( because the drag strip doesn't let you have any water on the track from the inside a/c system condensation ) valve if you're keeping the inside passenger evaporater ( or repurposes one for the air intake just beware of the ac compressor clutch disengaging because without the system working you can get a heat spike without using the extra 2 gallons of ice water capacitor ) a/c if not skip this step if its a " racing car system " and only cools the intake air . i hope this helps you out and and you can if you what do it on the cheap mins having to pull the A/C lines down and i hope this doesn't scare you away from doing it because on a hot day its totally worth it 45~+hp back vs no IC and its relatively easy to do o and most likely you wont need that extra civic rad anymore because it can heat the water back up if its on the same loop

id agree with you if you're HX's KW heat rejection are sized rite you will not need to spray lots water or compressed gas unless you're trying to get way below ambient temperatures or your compensating for to small of HX's that may be broken or plugged, that's why @ 300-650HP~ rear tires i haven't needed to spray but if i changed my ecu tune to run on a mix of methanol and nitro methane mixture aka as example M50 : NM 50 ( i already use alcohol on the street because i can get cheap and easy aka M100 or E85 or 91 pump ) i might but this would be set on kill mode @ 1200+ hp and as we speak i have a mostly stock 1967-71 G code engine with some goodies bolted on ( because that's where most of my budget has gone for now mopars bigger 60s v8 engines are more $$ to build vs GM LSX engines of the same displacements ) but i don't think with out " built motor " i can safely make much more that 6 ( plus i can learn how to setup + tune and run it safer with used 70s parts because a small bobo doesn't empty my small sized wallet vs the good stuff meaning that if i what to keep daily driving it id end up eating cheap ramen noodles for weeks to make up for it : / ) something because the rods on summit as a replacement set are rated for 500ish hp and yes you can make 1khp+ but id need more of the right parts and im not feeling lucky to try 1k-hp without better parts like rods etc. you're 351W trubo sounds nice ( fyi i don't tend to like working on ford's only done it a couple of times i think there dyslexicy built for no reason and so i don't tend to remember how there setup / know about specific details ) are you thinking of the same ish setup as erics fairmont? just more modern? and im guessing its for a fox body mustang ? and you said small hp from your 2.3 L how much is it making? just out of curiosity : )
