Hello Alaskan, well I live here in Brazil. So basically we only have Taurus as an alternative. After all, imported weapons arrive here at very high prices, and only a small percentage of the population has access to them. I'm not offended that you think Taurus is trash, but I'd like to argue. The TH10 is a new model, and it certainly still has some adjustments to make it acceptable. But on other KZbin channels it performed well with the standard load up to 200 grains. And in fact, it has already failed with loads of 220 grains, as in the LWRoad channel. But remember that there are other models that have not failed. The G3, for example, has examples with more than 25 thousand shots without failures or breaks. I think using a product launch as a basis to criticize an entire brand is not cool. Remember that many families depend on the income they earn from this company. Both here in Brazil, in the USA and now in the new factory in India too.
@AlaskanBallistics8 ай бұрын
Appreciate your opinion, but I've seen every model of Taurus fail. Companies shouldn't beta-test on their customers. They should make them ready to go from the start. To be fair, sig and now Smith and Wesson do this too. Thanks for watching and your comment. Godspeed and good hunting to you and yours.
@JD-tn5lz7 ай бұрын
I can appreciate that there are folks who depend upon a job to earn a living, but remember, we don't have your perspective and we have choices in the USA. Also, this particular firearm is a 10mm, which up here in Alaska is the preferred semi-automatic sidearm caliber for brown bear (grizzly) protection. There are NO second chances in a bear encounter. Yes, I've been there. That Taurus claims to have out 25k through any of their products tells me that either they're liars, designed a test for success, or changed their rules as to what they call successful. It's very telling that Taurus does not even try to compete in the very lucrative US law enforcement market.

Be wary of that. Unless you go with a Dan Wesson or a recent Colt Delta. Most (think Tisas, Girsan, Fusion, Kimber, Springfield) use many of the same parts on their 10mm 1911s as they do their .45s. Simply, when you do that, you WILL have parts breakage. Guaranteed. 10mm is a far higher pressure round

Should never ever pull the trigger when the slide is off. The hammer hits the frame and can cause a lot of damage. Send it back to the company and I am sure they will take care of it. Owning a bunch of 10 mm weapons it pays to practice with them for the problems you were having. I own Taurus, Smith$ Wesson, Glock and 1911 designs. @@AlaskanBallistics Get the XDM-E. 3.8 OR the 4.5. Run flawless & eat everything no problem. Got a G20 gen 5 & it's been nothing but problems. Hates Underwood's & B.B. Runs the weaker SAMMI stuff just fine. The new full case support rifled bbl is match quality when it's not jamming w the bear loads. From my research I've found the spring to be weak. Got a new stronger one coming. Also got the TH10. Same mag dropout probs even after I ground the off side completely flush. It handles the hot bear loads just fine except it always jams on the last round. I worked the mag release button a few days & it finally smoothed out w a drop of oil added. In the instructions it says to NOT use +P+ ammo in it. I have no idea where Underwood & B.B. fit into that category but it runs them just fine. It's spring is built way better/ stronger than the G20s is. Wish I'd gotten the long slide instead. From what I've researched they run flawlessly w the hot bear loads. Will keep you posted when the new, 20-28 lb springs arrives. Some outfit out of Israel. It's spring has 8 adjustments. From what I've researched the G20, gen 5s spring is only around 13 lbs. NOT enough for bear loads. Have seen 3 blow outs w stock bbls & 1 slide cracked but the stronger 22-24 lb springs & KKM bbl replacements fixed that on the gen 4s. In any case, I run the crap out of my S.A.s & they work great. I load em hot. Underwood & B.B. power. 1250 on the 200 grainers & 1200 on the 220s. W the 140 E.P.s getting 1480 fps & 1240 fps w the 185 E Ps. & 1600 fps w the 135 gr Underwood F N.s. XDM-E 4.5 handles em all just fine. Gotta put grip tape on the S.A. thou. Needs it w wet hands.

I've owned three Taurus's in my lifetime. All still work, flawlessly. NEVER had an issue. I have a Taurus PT92 baught in 1993, and a Taurus GX2 and my latest TX22. ALL Flawless.. As for your 15+1, yes, that gun IS a 15+1, and it's perfectly normal for the magazine release to be tighter when full. My S&W, SIG and Glocks do the same. Also, it's pretty common for any brand to have some minor hickups until broken in, (500 rds or more). The fact that you expressed you "hate" Taurus, doesn't make it a bad firearm. I am unimpressed with your so called review. OH, and I did notice, you have a very bad limp wrist issue. You need to work on your holds. I am not trying to be an ass, just calling it like I see it.

@diogenio nope. And I've had some of them fail. Literally almost every Taurus I've ever touched is junk. I've seen frames crack, and cylinder advancement springs break right out of the box. When a security company came in to qualify 100 guards all over Atlanta into our indoor range, the 4" Taurus 85s that they used only 85 of them would work. Working behind the cabelas gun counter, I sent 7 Taurus Judges and 1 Taurus tracker 44magnum back because you could close the cylinder and just keep spinning it! At the Atlanta range, our Taurus rental guns got sent back 6 times in 2 years. Taurus is a trash brand and you deserve the Darwin Award you get if you take one into a firefight. Sure other brands fail. And I've demonstrated that. But most other better brands are better than 85%, usually 99.9%You wouldn't jump out of an airplane with a parachute that only opens 8.5 out of 10 times. Don't be a poor snowflake.

Oh and your failure to understand the disassembling/reassembly procedures. Other than your operational shortcomings it’s a Tack driver. Maybe take it out for 300-500 rounds, get familiar with it the reevaluate before you Trash it. Operator errors are not malfunctions. As anyone knows that’s been in the firearms business, certain guns will handle different hollow points reliably as others will not.
