Hi and thanks for the comment great to hear from you. It's important to build speed on a good technique, so make sure you're working on the right things, but good luck and keep us updated with how it goes. Check out my latest update I uploaded last night. 👍

I did Super Speed at 52 and deff gained swing speed, but I got very "out of sync" between my lower body and upper body. Now I just concentrate on upping my ball speed and hitting the ball solidly while doing 3 to 4 weekly speed sessions (hitting balls as hard as possible 3 to 4 times a week) -- making sure I'm properly warmed up along with flexibility and focused strength training. I concentrate on condensing my front to back dispersion numbers over a fixed number of balls (usually 15). Cheers!

Love this reply and your approach. It's pretty much the same story as me re getting out of sync and this is happening again. I've got a further update to release soon and I cover this point, as since pushing myself harder, some bad technique has come into my driving, which I'm pleased to say I managed to correct quite quickly. Although it has always and will no doubt remain an unwanted tendancy. Doing this 3-4 times a week is a great effort. The most I feel I have time for is 2 maybe 3 max. Strength training is something I want to get into this year. Again, great reply and thanks for sharing. 👍

I believe that the biggest issue preventing distance is poor technique / poor contact / poor swing plane etc. There is definitely a role for strength / speed / flexibility training but the priority should first be swinging correctly rather than just quickly. I'm 60, handicap 8 with a swing speed of about 102 (it's been that for as long as I remember). I'm looking to use swing sticks primarily to maintain as much flexibility as possible.

Similar to Myself age wise I have skytrak plus and the swing speed does register high compared to ball speed which seems spot on I’m 157 with a good steady swing which will carry 275 ish and roll around the 300 yards on trackman with a 107 ish club speed the skytrak would say 111mph club speed which is obviously wrong , I also get not much more club speed with the sticks than my regular speed with driver , I’m trying to get above the 160 consistently as it’s a push to get over that at the moment, I’m a plus handicap but been in the fairway and having a good short game is really more important . Just shy of 300 is plenty long enough if your straight but we’re always trying for that bit extra . Instead of speed sticks Bryson says hit 100 drivers as fast as you can this definitely works especially longer higher hands in the backswing then after a good session when you slow it down if faster than before so as time moves on your gradually up your speed .

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your comments, it's great to hear from others. Your story sounds very similar to mine. If you haven't seen it yet, please check out my Bryson video as I go through that process you talk about and get crazy strong results. I have the same goal as you of 160, however currently I'm trying to address a couple of issues I'm getting in my swing. The cause may not be related to gaining speed, however I think they could be. I've recently purchased a HackMotion device which first impressions are very good, so I may do something on that soon and link this all up. Finally, I agree re 280ish being plenty and a focus on a good short game is critical where I'd say all golfers can benefit. My most recent video is on pitching with this in mind actually 👍👍

@TheGeordieGolfer9 ай бұрын
Similar to my last reply, make sure you're building speed up on top of decent technique. Not only will this prevent injury, but it will also set you up for the best chance of success. I think my recent gains could be down to slightly better pressure shift as well as getting a little faster. Keep us updated with how it goes. Check out my latest update I uploaded last night. 👍

Is your max driver speed when hitting a ball or just hitting driver? I think I have a mental disconnect or subconscious brake on my swing, I can swing driver without a ball max 121mph but when I hit balls on a sim I max out at 106mph
@TheGeordieGolfer8 ай бұрын
@@Boovda I’m the opposite I think. A practise swing isn’t as fast as hitting the ball. Although I’ve never used my driver like a speed stick to say for sure?

Finding the center of the face would benefit most amateur golfers no matter their age. I just turned 59. Workout 3x a week also do speed training as well as swinging a broom and a 4' piece of rebar trying to find some lost distance. So far after 2 years of doing this 3x a week I really havent noticed any gains. 😢

As a senior professional, I'd recommend more on consistent ball striking than speed. Golf is not a game of power over control. In my 20's I'd a swing speed of 133 mph, in the 90's I could easily drive 300 of the tee. As I got older and suffered a life changing leg accident I lost all that. I'd to relearn how to play with my injuries, so I focused on consistent ball striking. From that I know each shot I hit goes X distance. Within each club I've four power settings. 25% 50% 75% and 100%. 100% is very very rarely used. From looking at golf this way I have scored consistently lower than I did swinging faster when I was younger. I dont encourage anyone to take up seeking faster swing speeds.. can I ask why you want to swing faster ? What is your goal ? I play with a friend who is 78, he plays of 7... his skill is from 130 yards into greens along with pitching and putting.
@TheGeordieGolfer9 ай бұрын
Hi there. Many thanks for your comments. Why faster. Partly for fun, see what I can still do at my age & also for an advantage. I’m a scratch golfer & last season I notice my distance dropping off slightly, so want to try to prevent that getting worse until I’m a few years older. Goal. To not drop below 155 ball at least. Main goal. To get back to +1 or better which is where I was in 2022.
@TheGeordieGolfer9 ай бұрын
Just to add, my main strength is my iron and wedge play. I’m always working on striking the ball well & hitting numbers. I love all that. I’m planning to release a wedge matrix video soon actually. Hopefully that has as much interest as getting faster.
@evelghostrider9 ай бұрын
@TheGeordieGolfer can I ask do you feel your + handicap came from power, accuracy, putting or a combination. I am in my 50's, I qualified for staysure seniors the same year covid kicked in. And that year got canceled. I got a free shot for following year but did not accept as you needed to jump through all manor of hoops to play. I played against some of the best players from Europe and Learned alot from what I'd believed made them good. I am now not a long hitter, but neither were most of these guys we used to see on TV. They were not lazer accurate as we all thought either. Infact many were not even good ball strikers. I soon learned these people are not some golfing gods. They are just very consistent. And can get up and down from tuff places. Watching your swing and hearing your ball strike there is nothing for you to be concerned over my friend. But if its a speed increase for personal reasons brilliant .. go for it. I have poor health issues from motorbike accidents, so I made up for distance with accuracy and distance control from within 200 yards and especially 80 yards and less. Controlling ball flight and spin allowed me to fire balls at flags from any yardage under 80 with very good accuracy. My personal feeling is golf lost direction with people wanting to hit further and further, I'd rather take 20 30 yards of distance to gain more control. Also because I have a very high spin rate in nearly all my clubs, driver is 3200 no matter what I have changed to. You seem a very good player my friend and I hope all works out for you. Paul .
@TheGeordieGolfer9 ай бұрын
Hi Paul. Really appreciate your comments my friend. Very practical & I can tell you have a lot of experience & knowledge. In answer to your question, my weakest part of my game is putting, as I can be very streaky. My driving is usually pretty decent, my iron play good & since getting the SkyTrak a couple of years ago, my wedges have improved hugely. Like you, I have 4 swings per wedge & can usually hit those numbers regularly. In truth, before starting the KZbin channel in December, 90% of my practise in the sim was wedges. Love it as well. Chipping is generally solid. Keep in touch & let me know what you think of my future content. 👍🏻

@TheGeordieGolfer yeah find the fitness training a bit addictive and am 3 months deep into it. I think the trick is keeping it short and regular and monitoring performance improvements which I do through pressups max and have gone from 20 at start to 65 now. I might go back to Superspeed in March if you can show it works. I don't have a radar which makes it boring so rely on range ball speed which hardly moved for me to date. Patrick (Plymouth)
@TheGeordieGolfer10 ай бұрын
@@tourrhythmgolf-3to1 hi Patrick, I’d defo recommend a radar or PRGR ideally. It gives you immediate feedback and the PRGR can be used on the range as a relatively cheap launch monitor.
