Awesome drill sequence! Seems like one could build the entire swing just with this drill progression
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
Absolutely!!! A great way for people to build it from the ground up.

Great lesson and drills. Your lessons/drills are SO informative. I am also working on the Start the Engine lessons and am waiting for #2. I have lost so much of the basics over the last few years and you are heading me back in the right direction. Thanks for the “reeducation “ and am looking forward to more help from your very “at the point “ straight forward training. Thanks again my friend.

What a brilliant, succinct combined explanation and set of drills about the sequence. I've been trying to understand the process by looking at countless other teachers giving their tutorials on you tube. They have described various elements of the swing but none have put it in such plain terms. It really is step by step. I'm a 10-12 handicapper that has never been able to break the ceiling with consistent ball striking. Today I've started to do the drills and the results were immediate. Effortless power not powerless effort. I'm thrilled to think that i'm finally going to get the golf swing right before I depart from this earth. A life long dream. Thank you. BTW what about the driver? Different set up but is the sequence just the same?

Thank you for taking time to post a comment of this nature! It means the world to me to know that you're getting success like you are and I wish you more continued success with this drill and other ones I put out in the future. This drill will work with the driver, just make sure you widen the stance a small amount and adjust the ball/bag position forward ever so slightly.

I can not believe listening to your video and doing the steps how this has helped my swing. Not only am I succeeding in ball striking but I am also having my arms straight during follow-thru. Thank you

As someone that likes to just step up to the ball and hit (with varying results), step 3 is a great pre-shot routine to get my sequence and release feels before stepping up and taking my next shot.
@MyGolfDNA4 ай бұрын
Love that idea for pre shot. Hopefully others will use that same sort of approach. Thanks for watching.

Great stuff!! I've known for years that I need to involve my lower body more for both speed and consistency. This seems to be an excellent foundation for both. I recently purchased speed sticks and was ready to start using them, but having watched this video, maybe it makes better sense to hold off with them until I've gotten proficient with the 3 steps in the video first. Agree?
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
You can use speed sticks in conjunction with the drill really and as you get to step 3 you can ramp up the speed as you continue to get more and more proficient. If you find the speed is more of a distraction, then I’d keep the sticks out of there and stay more methodical. Hope that helps you and wishing you much success with the drill.

at 15:24, your head turns left at start of downswing. Are you subconsciously shifting your focus ahead of the ball to have club release there?
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
My head tilt at the start of the downswing is not conscious movement and has been in my swing since I played junior golf. At one point, that move caused too much secondary tilt and caused me to get stuck. I'm a trail eye dominant BUT lead side dominant swinger of the club and I have seen a lot of correlation from the 2 over the years.

Great video. Quick question. After you reach the acceleration zone and hips have stopped turning and shoulders are square to the line does the body keep rotating or is it just pulled around by the release of the club.
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
The body should feel really slow BUT will keep moving always. We just want it to slow down as much as possible to start the release of the club at the right time. Be on the look out this week for a video that will talk more about this topic as well as a drill to go along with it:)
@FT16310 ай бұрын
The hands move fastest from the top of the swing down to about lead club parallel or so, the hands then slow down which promotes angular force which increases club head speed.
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
For sure! The hands accelerate quite a bit from the shoulder line to the belt line.

I'm watching the PGA Cognizant tournament with a guy named Jake Knapp who has the slowest arms I've ever seen & hits it a long way. It almost looks as if his arms are decelerating thru impact. I'd give a lot to have that swing.
@MyGolfDNA10 ай бұрын
He moves it and grooves it. Sequence is where it's at!!!

That added bante is exactly what I need ! I feel like I have just accompanied a car mechanic as he inspects my automobile with a fine toothed microscope. At 60 plus years, I have never done a 12 step program. Or even one step ! Three step sounds like magic . Going to focus for a few days , and re -invent my broken swing . Thank you so very much! John m
