It’s not fair,republic should have their contract revoked,they broke their contract with the city by not providing the service they are getting paid for,my 68 year old mother hasn’t had her trash picked up in weeks and she doesn’t have a car to got to the dumpster,a friend of the family did us the favor of taking her trash to the dumpster but yet my mom is still getting a trash bill,how is that fair? What is the city doing about? Nothing just giving excuses to the voters,hope the voters remember this when election time comes

Trash industry is a multi-billion dollar business. Republic doesn’t care if they lose contracts here there as long as the numbers look good. Maybe it’s time for Chula Vista to have its own trash collection.

What’s next? SDGE, Doctors, nurses, cops, fire fighters walking out of the job because for feeling entitled to more pay? If you ask any employee at any job if they feel the should earn more pay, 100 percent will say yes! What message does this give to all other employees? Don’t go to school, drop out of high school, get a low skill skill job like a garbage man, then pull a tantrum for more pay? 🤦 The union structure is the most corrupt institution in the world!

It's about time they are considering firing these guys. Nothing personal. People are tired of paying trash company for no work. Those guys should not expect great pay, especially not after this strike. If they are unhappy with pay and crappy truck why dont they just quit. They are better than this. Those trucks wont last and let the company pay the bill. Just do what you do and if you cant do it that's not your problem. If company screws you, leave and move on to the next job who will pay you better and appreciate you. The only person that keeps you there is you and you alone. Maybe getting fired is a wake up call to end where you are now and begin a new chapter.
