An unusually precise explanation, thanks. I’ve used the 10 ton unit for about 6 years to straighten car frames etc. It worked well for the first year but the power gradually fell away. No leaks but its dead now, I’ll use your guide to resurrect it . Cheers.

Hi I am making a press the same as you have . Do you know where I could get that collar that you have welded to the top to screw the ram in . Or size. I don’t have a lathe so can’t make one . Cheers .

It was an old pipe fitting that didn't really have the right thread, ie, it pulled-out straight away. What I did was cut a 1" bridge plate that went over the top/back of the ram, and bolted it down. If you look at 0:14 you can see it under the hose, ie, it's sitting on 2" SHS tube spaces and has shims between the ram and bridge plate.

Hi Crackind video, My issue is without a load it extends fully however when load is apllied on moves about 2 inches. Any ideas? Thanks

If it's leaking oil I think it has run out of oil, ie, pumping air. If it has oil you can try opening the filler on the pump to relief the air pressure. Other than that maybe it's back flowing, ie, the valve.
