Thank you all for your support over the better part of a decade! I started making videos on KZbin in 2006-2007 when I was just 10 years old. Many ideas came and went until 2011, when I created, “Mat4yo.” Even then, I was not yet a rapper. But I tried it out a few times (and failed miserably!) I come from a family of musicians, but never played an instrument of my own. It wasn’t until 2014 when I began taking rap seriously and started the path towards the artist you see today! This rap showcases some of my best lyrics and favorite productions I’ve created as Mat4yo. I hope you will stay tuned for another 10 years and beyond!

Pretty nuts how I first found your channel 7 years ago while I was still in grade school, and here I am now, starting my first year of University tomorrow. When I was younger I absolutely thought of you as a role model and it reflects in my earlier work from those days. I still remember you reviewing one of my very old projects and trying really hard to be nice about it because you could tell I was trying really hard to learn and improve from your teachings. In the years since, I’ve grown substantially as a person - taken up new hobbies, bettered myself socially and, most importantly, grown away from a Mat4yo copycat creatively. Despite growing into my own unique style of storytelling and musical portrayal of ideas, I still attribute most, if not all of the fundamentals to those original Chisel This! episodes. In the time you grew apart from the rap battle community, I rose to the top with people like Dustin and, suddenly fulfilling the role of a creative mentor to a new generation of young creators, exactly as you did to me. You’ve been one of the only constants in my life since I’ve started making music, and I just wanted to give my wholehearted thanks for everything you’ve done to shape me as the creator I am today. Here’s to 10 more :)

I know this is a couple years late, but wow this was great and nostalgic for me; I loved seeing a compilation of your greatest hits. As an English lit uni student now, you were certainly one of the people who made me appreciate analysing things in depth - and the way you've nurtured and embraced your idiosyncrasies over the years in the rap game is highly admirable and impressive. My favourite sequence of yours will always be from the 3rd 'long words in a rap' video (or whatever they're called): 'Keep drooping your jaw with lugubrious pause Cue the applauses and "oohs" and the "ahhs" I'm cruising across big Lucifer's pond Like I'm Frozone, freezing it all you're in awe' Lovely work over the years and although your channel is sizeable rather than overly large, you've made a big difference to a lot of people. Plus, you've had your hand all over the youtube space, whether that's the rap battles you were apart of, your excellent ERB contribution or your PAINT collab which was notably great... Just commenting to let you know there are people out there who rly appreciate what you've done over the years. Keep doing whatever u want man
