This whole thing has been Devine intervention! The week I was going to buy the bus, I barely got hit by a school bus. They wrote me a check for the amount that I need to pay for the bus, unknowingly. All at the same time...lol

I've seen His hand at work in both mine and my late wife's lives starting with His giving both of us nudges to get closer to Him a month and a half before the sudden pulmonary embolism took her 8 years ago ( a lot of giving information of how she wanted things,where stuff was that I'd need to know and an other end of life stuff that a " healthy " 43 year old with another 40 years in life expectancy wouldn't just spout off while watching Top Gear and an overall feeling to get right with God on both our parts) and more recently I was diagnosed with heart failure a year ago and went from expecting to have been working another 6 years at least to being told I was retired at 59 with my odds not being good to see my 64th birthday I filed for disability in November that eventually I started to get back in July but the last of my money ran out in December. As it looked like I was about to lose everything stimulus money hit to keep the wolf back from the door and every time things started looking tight He provided be it a tax refund higher than expected to a check from one of my brother in law's sending me a check for 2K having heard I was having trouble so yes He does provide.

She's a great old bus! With all the work that you'll put into her she'll be a perfect bus! I hope you have a great trip when it happens. The only thing that the bus needs to look perfect is for the door to be fixed along with a replacement rear window, that can be a pain because it's a hard piece to come by.

Had to use some super clean to scrub off road tar and mung - I found it worked really well combined with a drill-mounted nylon brush. Made for a great prep wash for a plastic bumper I repainted

That is a true blessing that this bus is getting ready to be driven on the highway. Back in the days when this bus was new, most school buses weren't designed for highway use. Now for those looking right at 7:32, we see what I mean by saying "Inward-outward" door. Here we see with the door open. Front leaf swings out while the rear leaf swings in. Those were very popular in those days. This was very well known on buses by Superior.

I just became a new subscriber. I love stuff like this. I’m a Puerto Rican who grew up in New York City and now lives in California. I always wanted to do stuff like this while living in the country side. It’s beautiful there and full of nature. My family’s lifestyle made this pretty impossible and now in my current situation it doesn’t look like I’ll be living the country side lifestyle anytime soon. Hi Jason, I just binge watched all the vids up to the Super Clean scrub down. I am impressed with your fortitude in sticking with it and being creative to make the bus revival happen. I think one of the major issues you will be facing is the rats. There are some electronic devices on Amazon which I believe use strobes and ultra sonics to make them not want to there. Also, there always the chemical methods, which are harsh, but quite permanent. Good luck on that and I became a subscriber today. That 'ol motor sounds like it just needs fresh fluids and a new clutch and you should be good to go. I am happy to see that one of your first goals is bringing the brakes back. That is important.You'll know what the steering linkage feels like once you get it on a paved road, but having solid steering is as important as good brakes. So. good luck with it.

I would like to kind of set the records straight... a widow maker rim was named about the Dayton rims. They didn't have lug nuts in the center of the rim but were just a empty space, a metal band held the tire on the inside, and a seam that when deflated would collapse on the inside of itself allowing the tire to come off easy. Once tire was installed, the two different lock rings held that split rim in place and you put in air hopefully but they would slip and send the lock rings flying and hurt or kill someone. Only safe way to air them was a chain wrapped around them all the way around it before airing and having a disaster. A budd rim like your wheels is not dangerous at all. That lock ring went on a solid wheel and could not come apart if installed correctly and made for tube type tires. So you have Budd rims and they are tube type, completely safe to mount tires on.

those three black lines are the level of the floor the center line is the seat height and the top line is the level of the back of the seats.Those marker lines are used even now

While the wheels are off. Have those split rims cleaned and blasted. Happy TD a one time thing. They can’t be able to have that done again. It will keep them safe and last another 20 years Atleast. Rather be safe than sorry. Yes they are widowmakers. Haven’t heard that in a long time
