I adore french chic and this capsule is really the best combination of effortless, modern and chic that I have seen in a long time. Thank you for the capsule inspiration!

Really enjoyed this one Jamie, all the pieces and looks are entirely relatable. The extreme oversized fashion moment has become hyperbolic. Love getting back to flattering basics❤️

I have really been having a bit of a French girl style moment lately, which truth be told, I think is my happy place. Love experimenting and playing with proportions but will always come back to the classics :) Definitely can see that the zeitgeist seems to be shifting that way again, too 👌🏻

Besides being tall and slim you have the perfect square shoulders - all the tops/shirts look wonderful on you. Sigh not fair😂

I’m not tall and slim, but I am grateful to have straight, square shoulders like Jamie and the long, columnar neck. Thanks entirely to my ancestors’ genes. I wish some ancestor gave me that long, slim waist gene, too! But every woman has some great assets, we should appreciate them more, and some less great, which we shouldn’t agonize over. Perfect bodies require starving, implants and rib removal surgery, not for me.❤

Ahh Kaye you flatter me too much! All I can say is I have my mother's genes to thank - my figure is basically a carbon copy of hers (albeit slightly taller); that said, running after two wee ones does help (especially with keeping my arms toned 😆)

@@kimberlyperrotis8962 Kimberley, enjoy those shoulders - given that I’m very old, I lived through the great shoulder pad era - loved it! I learned long ago not to take myself too seriously or pick myself to pieces, there is always a long line waiting to do that but the great thing about growing old is there are less of them each year.😁

Hi Jamie. I love how genuine you are in your videos. Also definitely prefer the way you showed the outfits in this video as well. When they are shown too quickly or three at a time it is hard to take in so this was great. 😊

Nice ideas and outfits. Except the trench and a sweater with sandals ? In case you need both on top means it is cold, that it might even rain. Who would wear sandals with that ?
@mademoisellejaime Жыл бұрын
You'd be surprised, but here in Sydney that's actually something that I have done. Sweaters + sandals season lasts for *months* (and I love it!). Also, while a trench coat might be considered a style to wear when raining, I like to wear it as a lighter outerwear piece for the most part. I have a proper rain jacket for when it's going to rain that I pull out on repeat :)

Well, it looks cool as an outfit but my toesies would get cold lol and I live next to the ocean in a mild climate with average of 21 C all year so in theory I could wear the same. Anyway, thank you for responding♡♡♡.

I loved the striped shirt so much that I got the dress in the same fabric, both are gorgeous, classic, but feminine, and very high-quality.

I started wearing silk when I learned I’m allergic to polyester and many other synthetic fibers. It’s a spoiler, though, nothing else even comes close to silk for its sublime comfort. I wear my silk shirts, tops skirts and dresses most days, why not? They’re so breathable, soft and light that they work in all but the hottest summer month or two. Silk is so easy to care for, it hardly needs any washing because it doesn’t hold odors or dirt like other fabrics do. After a first, thorough ironing to get the packing/shipping wrinkles out, it never needs ironing, either. Also, it’s wrinkle-resistant because of its high resilience, and it dries super-fast, making it great for travel. I turn on the fan in my laundry area facing the garment and a freshly-washed silk top, say, is dry in an hour. My travel trick is that I pack an empty, small (8-oz.) sprayer bottle, fill it with hot tap water, then dampen any wrinkles with it and hang the silk garment up. In an hour or two, it’s ready to wear, no need to carry a travel steamer or iron. Silk does have two downsides: 1. a high affinity for organic stains (food, beverages, blood, etc.) that can’t be as aggressively treated as on other fabrics, and 2. A tendency to fray, but so do other fabrics, like rayon). I just use reasonable caution and have only got one small stain in over a dozen years of wearing silk nearly daily (that likely could have been removed by a dry-cleaner, but I was on isolation for over two years in the pandemic and didn’t take it in).

I have to wear silk with such caution these days, thanks to having two kids who love to climb all over their mum/be held etc (not complaining - I *love* the cuddles) so tend to reserve the silk shirts for when they're at daycare/kindy. But I think that's why I love a silk knit so much - it feels slightly more carefree to me :)

Lily Silk is one of my principal brands, hardly a month goes by without me buying something from them, from my Wish List. The only problem is that they don’t make enough elastic waistbands, and their waistbands in general are much too tight for most mature figures. Even if we maintain our weight and fitness, hormonal changes make the peri-, menopausal, and post-figure thicken at the waist, often by a lot! With my petite, narrow, short-waisted frame, I never had a waist 12 inches smaller than my hips, now it’s more like only 6 inches smaller, at the most. Lily Silk does have free custom-sizing, though, on most of their woven items (not the knits, which are my favorites), but I hate waiting a month for them.

I am so thrilled that you brought this up, as I had never paid attention to the size customisation option (which, brilliant!). I wish more brands offered this as I think it acknowledges those bodily changes throughout all stages of life but also allows you to get a tailored fit from the outset.

Isn't it the best choice if we can wear clothes for 10 months of the year? I like the basic design that doesn't go out of fashion to suit any situation!
