11.300RPM BMW E30 V8 || Formula Indy Engine Swap - HillClimb Legend

Some memories will simply live with the fans forever and hearing a 570Hp/11.300Rpm Indy Racing League sourced V8 screaming on Austrian roads while moving what can be considered the wildest looking BMW E30 inspired body ever is something every true Petrolhead will never forget.
In a machine weighing only 860Kg thanks to its spaceframed chassis and sporting wind tunel tested aerodynamics, the by product will always be some serious speed. Add to that sparks in every time this thing bottoms out, fly-bys that will leave people asking if that really wasn´t a 90´s Formula 1 passing and the final result is what you can see on the video..

In order to run this engine, it needs to be connected to an oil warmer until the oil reaches 80c. The very tight bearing and piston-to-bore clearances need heat to expand the metals before starting, you also need to constantly be checking the valves with compressed air to make sure that they are not leaking either since the valves do not use a cam shaft, but pneumatic actuators... have you any idea what owning an F1 engine requires? We do not have the technical abilities to work on one, and have much less money & manpower to make it work - for pros with big bucks only.

@@HeatFilter This is an Indy V8, not an F1 engine. It doesn't have a pneumatic valvetrain, it has conventional camshafts and valve springs with finger followers, so doesn't require NEARLY as much studious maintenance. Also, I really hope you've grown past the point where you're discouraging people from chasing their dreams in the three years since you put this comment up, because MAN does it make for sorry reading.

Now that's a HillClimb Monster! Subbed! Waiting for a old school naturally aspirated F1 V12 turning 18,000+ rpm's in a HillClimb/Pikes Peak style chassis! Hook it up I'm sure its out there some where! I have heard of some F1 engines from back in the day turning a ear wrenching 22,000 rpm's! Could you imagine hearing/seeing that bang through the gears in a canyon on the way up the hill! Nice Vid as always confirms why I love fast n loud and I dont mean the monkeys!
