Expanding on the first detail, Scouter characters have an easier time locking on to characters. If you break their scouters though, then they actually have a considerably harder time locking onto their enemies again compared to people who can sense ki already.

I feel with the Saibamen it's 100% them being plants. Even their capsule is shown to be half seeds and half water, meaning water makes them rapidly grow if they were able to reach maturity from a seed in seconds. I love the detail and didn't know they charged faster underwater until this video, so thanks for adding it to the video.

I’m surprised that I haven’t seen anyone mention this. One character that is completely immune to the super armor rule is Arale. No matter what character, she will always be able to stagger every opponent. This being a reference to the fact that she is just too powerful to be stopped.

Im not sure if you covered this already but: If you manually fuse your health bars add up, potentially getting all bars of HP, rather than choosing the charater from the selection screen and having default HP. Also, in the game if you stay for example SS3 for a long period, your KI will charge slower forcing you to go back to default form. This is because as Goku said, SS3 is a hard form to keep up. But if you climb back and transform again. I think you can enjoy full ki charge SS3 (i dont remember this last part throughly)

To be precise, in Tenkaichi 3, if you fuse manually, your character gets everything from the two characters used for the fusion. Even the item boosts. However, I don't think the life 100% adds up because in the "Challenge" fights or whatever was their names, you do not get a perfect health score if you fused. Even if you did not get hit.

Did you know that all characters move at a different speed when flying? If I remember correctly, Super Trunks is one of the slowest, while Base Form Trunks and Super Saiyan Trunks are some of the fastest.

@@Jerry-ef2uy He's the fastest moving Android in the game, he has that Double-Ball attack which does more than 8000 damage and can be thrown from very close (close enough to make dodging them 2 consecutive frame-perfect inputs), but most importantly: he has the quickest passive Ki generation in the game. All of this combined means that you can throw the Double Ball attack, launch the enemy away with a charged attack, fly away for like 5 seconds, then repeat. Add to that that he has that filthy Android Barrier, and it's just ridiculous.

The search mechanic came from the first Budokai Tenkaichi game. Used to be a requirement before a fight starts outside of story mode but got removed either in BT2 or BT3. It was kind of cool since most stages would place you in different areas and whoever could find the opponent first could have a slight advantage at the start.

It got removed in BT2, but BT2 still allowed us to cancel the lock-on at any time. BT3 restricted a ton of freedom elements, including this neat trick.

I think Kid Buu is pretty OP when it comes to competitive play. He also spawns with 3 Ki bars and you can instantly go into either KameHameHa or an Attack combo. And speed is definitely super high compared to that of Ascended Trunks!

Idk if you mentioned it before but heres a neat thing I noticed in BT3. When you fight a giant character and use a dashing special attack, you’ll bounce off them and it will fail. Yajirobe is the only character in the entire game with a unique dash special which actually hits giant characters, its his ultimate attack and is a reference to when he chopped off great ape vegeta’s tail Edit: like others said, ssj3 goku and tapion also have super dashes that hit giant characters, these are the only three in the game that work Edit 2: Kid goku and ssj4 goku also work, I wonder if theres more!

No there’s more characters who can do that, tapion does a sword attack against big characters as well and I think ssj3 goku can do dragon fist on big characters too. All in reference to their fight against hirudegarn in the movies.

I don't know if this has been covered before, but i vividly remember that in some of the tenkaichi games (probably 2 or 3) some characters deflect Freeza's (and maybe others as well) death beam's just like a regular ki-blast instead of dodging it via teleporting. I remember that at least Dodoria was able to do it.

Speaking of scouters. In the first Tenkaichi game, some attacks make your character lose lock on so you have to find the enemy again. Scouter characters and characters with ki sensing abilities can just hold down the button to lock on again even if the other character is outside your fov. For scouter characters, this only works if they haven't suffered clothing damage yet, because that breaks their scouters. And it doesn't work on androids (who also don't show up on the minimap).

This is just an idea but it would be neat to see a comparison of unique character actions in BT3 that take reference to the anime. For example when kid Gohan reflects a charged Ki blast he uses the same pose when he reflected the spirit bomb towards vegeta. Or also how some characters pull out unique weapons that are referenced in the anime like Chi Chi pulling out the bansho fan and king cold pulling out trunks sword. The developers that created these fighters move sets really took into consideration how they fought in the anime which makes every fighter so unique. It’s amazing how they were able to capture how each character flew, fought, posed and so on. This game was made with so much love and dedication, I still come back to play it on my PS2 every now and then. I wish they’d make a new Tenkaichi with an updated roster and graphics but I doubt it would come out as perfect as this game with all its small details that even to this day we continue to find.

In Tenkaichi 3, the Kid Goku vs King Piccolo fight in Dragon History has extra Chi Chi vs Tamborine fight if you KO KP without pressing R3 the second time. I always thought the first one was common knowledge as it’s one of the main focal points of the Tenkaichi series. At least in Tenkaichi 1.

Great vid like always! Tenkaichi 3 was literally my early childhood. Here’s a couple things I noticed when playing as a kid: Androids don’t charge unless all of their yellow ki bars fill up. They also are completely immune to the life drain attacks from Dr. Gero, Android 19, and Cell. The same also goes for Metal Cooler When you transform as Frieza, Cell, or into a great ape, you gain a little bit of health. When you transform from giant Janemba to Super Janemba however, he loses a bar of health Zangya breaks the 4th wall. When she beats Krillin, she says “Dontcha wish your girlfriend was tough like me? 5:10 some characters actually can fire super attacks with only two ki bars actually....l know this because l played SSJ2 Gohan, and his super kamehameha only cost two for good damage, and l loved it lol.

Fun fact: those little mini games during the loading screens? The reason they never caught on is Namco put a patent on the idea. Legally, nobody else was able to use an interactive loading screen without a lawsuit. They never did much with it after they patented it, basically just what you see here mostly, but it made sure nobody else was able to. So you have them to thank for that.

If you charged to Max Power in BT3 you can break any characters super unless they have charged up or used False Courage. Ironically, Toriyama around this time stated the new Arc for Dragon Ball Super, the Dragon Ball Super Hero Arc will be leading into the end of Z

In terms of best modifications DBZ Budokai 3: Infinite Worlds, DBZ Budokai Techikai 3, DBZ Xenoverse 2 are the best “step-up” games of their respective line. Each brought new mechanics to the table that I saw was always diverse, fun, & competitive. Would have a ball playing with my younger brother growing up

I actually did like the uub side quest it gave more love to the character than tori or toriyama ever did speaking of which I'm not sure if you ever mentioned it in another vid but there is some dialog in budokai 3 that hints to cut content during broly's story when you fight adult gohan he makes a commit saying " is this the legendary super sayian trunks warned us about" originally future trunks was supposed to have a story arc as well and he would fight broly then warn gohan and the others about him but it was cut

Future Trunks isn't the only one. Apparently, every character was planned to have their own Dragon Universe story, with one example being a Saibaman switching sides and helping the Z-Fighters on Namek.

3:27 The armor actually breaks at SSJ Grade 1 or above (Super Vageta/Trunks) and further on. I vaguely recall being able to faze Broly using them. It was either them or Hirudagon that could be fazed. I know only certain characters could break Great Apes super armor as well!

Don't know if you covered it already but in BT3. Teen Gohan's second costume (the Goku outfit) changes his base hairstyle to match what it looked like in the Bojack movie. However when he goes super Saiyan one it reverts back to his cell saga look (he didn't go super Saiyan 1 in the movie so perhaps that's the reason)
