Benjamin is such an interesting and cool person. It’s good to see him doing well now. He doesn’t like to admit it but he has helped many many people along the way by giving a different point of view when it comes to spirituality. Top guy. John you are a fantastic interviewer too. Well done from a fellow Paddy 😜

Ben is interesting and damn, he is what he is! Some juicy quotes are below --- ENJOY! Buddhism holds that personal identity is delusional (Giles, 1993), that each of us is a self that turns out to not actually exist (Dalai Lama, 1995b, 2005). Clinging to or being obsessed with the delusional self is the major cause of suffering (Dalai Lama, 1995a).

Thanks for sharing. So the claim about enlightenment ending the neuroses/addiction etc is wrong? I get confused because the ego is said to be responsible for what is dysfunctional and that when it is seen thru ie awakening, the dysfunction is supposed to fall away.

@@jacksaturday4506 I couldn't comment on your channel. So I'll do it here. Your perspective is very interrsting and in contrast to the common belief that enlightenment has nothing to do with the personal sense of self. Also wanted to say that your vjdeos are always very insightful. Not sure why you removed the old ones. I wish I had saved them. They were very helpful to me. Thanks again.

'I knew I could just skateboard for the rest of my life because it's the universe's love I'm denying when I don't do what I want' Not sure I agree (will have to think on it) but. For a timid person this was eyeopening to hear. IMO it's hard to realize these things and then live in this earth hell/ven because it's impossible to fake it anymore. I mean, maybe life won't make it possible to do what you love, and then you have to just live with that pain then. Can't "reinvent" yourself to fit the mould.

I am picturing him a bit like the character in "good will hunting movie" .. like "doing community service" by going to psychiatrist that are really crazy and neurotic , like a world upside down scenario.. in which "freedom" is too dangerous and needs psychiatric "medicine" and control.. jajaja , this world is reallly... IDK ;-)
