There might be one more watch to be considered as a one and done: The Omega Globemaster! It’s one of the most underrated watches of Omega IMHO. I hope that I can make the Globemaster the last but not least watch of my seven piece core collection soon.

Tudor Black Bay black chunky OG for me 41x14mm - accurate and fits my wrist great - got it second hand cheap when the original owner was in a hurry to upgrade to the 58 a few years back and I’m loving every scratch he broke it in with. -.5 SPD means I can set it 15 seconds fast once a month and basically forget about it like I would a quartz.

Regarding the *TAG Heuer Carrera* ~ The Date version _without_ the bracelet weighs only 65 grams. Making it ideal as a One and Done for those who can't stand a heavy watch on their wrist. Downside = It is not a good value, brand new. Also, I have seen fakes of the Carrera floating around the internet. So if you want one, and don't mind the price for a new one, be sure to buy only from an A.D. or from TAG Heuer direct.
@OneManReviews14 күн бұрын
The resale value should not be much of a concern if you are not planning to sell it. But yeah. TAG looses a lot. As for fakes I also would recommend buying from TAG directly or any Authorized dealer. Some ADs could even offer a discount on TAG.

My Aquaracer Solargraph could be a one and done. Crazy light since it’s solar quartz and titanium.
@paulbonaventura49698 күн бұрын
I lucked out on Ebay with the older one (date at 3' o clock). It's so light that I feel liek I should be wearing something beefier, so I got an aquaracer... and then I realized it's too beefy and (not well made). So it's back to just the Carrera.

Great video, and choices. I would go with; Rolex Air King or Perpetual , Black Dial, Hamilton Khaki Pioneer (pre-murph), Coin Edge, Manual Wind, CWC RN Dive Watch, Seiko Alpinist, maybe the Thai Green Dial, and then add a Chrono or GMT, perhaps a Microbrand. :)

I guess I already have 1 and done collection. 2 of the models on this list I have in my watch box. The Carrera 39.5 (white dial) and the Cartier Santos Large (white dial) - this one is the wifey's. I agree on comfort and simplicity now.... Having dive watches that are just chunky monkey's and can be uncomfortable (i.e. Aquaracer) , these options just fit great. Santos is the most comfortable and elegant and sporty watch I have ever held. I really would like that BB41 monochrome but the OP41 Bright Black is stunning. I do like it better than the EXP 1 , but it's so hyped and put in your face on YT that you just keep seeing it . Great video... but you know this rabbit hole never stops at 1 lol

nice choices , but mine as affordable watch that served me for about 23 years is tissot prs516 automatic, 39mm daydate black dial, it is very sporty in its original racing ss bracelet and classic vintage one in a crocodile black leather strap. maybe it is not perfect for some occasion like wedding parties but still is suitable enough. and among my collection it is the most worn watch through the years. it could take beatings and survive easily, this helped preserving my other more expensive watches .

Great choices. Personally, I find the IWC Mark XX wears too big, like all their watches. The OP is almost perfect but I’d give the nod to the Explorer instead. I like the black dial AT but if prefer the blue dial because it doesn’t have the distracting metal outline around the date window. For Nomos, I’d choose the Club Sport Neomatik instead.

I've a Tissot Seastar 36mm two tone quartz.. it has precidrive movement which says +/-10sec per year tolerance.. crazy that it offers Grand Seiko level accuracy and I bought it for $285 from Jomashop two months ago.. 300m WR, sapphire crystal and this movement.. totally worth it

I am in dilemma between grand Seiko sbgx261 and longines spirit 37. What would your personal pick between them and why?
@BosworthMcG14 күн бұрын
I was cross shopping the champagne dial spirit 37 and the GS SBGX063. I picked up the GS because it has a cleaner dial, was less expensive, has high accuracy quartz which means it’s grab and go and has lower long term maintenance costs, and it also just seemed to wear better on my smaller wrist. And the GS had better finishing too.

Should a one and done watch really be dateless? Are we not talking GADA territory? Many people need to check the date while at work. If I have to get my phone out to check it, then my watch is redundant.

@@nearfear100 I was looking for an interesting collection which showed that someone really has a handle on the market and truly understand what a GADA is. This is an incredibly tripe list. The Longines has such preposterously long luds that it is more end links than dial on your wrist. Absolutely nothing elegant about that design.
