I kind of love that these episodes are so long ago that the descriptor for a Muslim is a “Mohommadan”. And it is simply a descriptor. A much more innocent and gracious time.

Yes, Patrick was my favourite team captain. He was so droll and funny.

Both Muir (RAF) and Campbell (Irish Navy) served in the second world war, which was still fresh in people's minds in the 1970s.

Oh to return to the days of class TV programmes ...educated talented well spoken guests with a sense of humor . The ladies were beautiful in every sense of word . Sadly an England that is rapidly disappearing

It died in the 1980s with Thatcher's use of our North Sea oil revenues to fund high unemployment, the purpose of which was to smash the power of unions and 'roll back the frontiers of the state', the culmination of which is the mess we're in today.

It makes you realise how sanitised the guests on television are today. Everyone is from the same stand-up circuit, and there is no diversity anymore. These people are all fascinating.

I’ve heard the word ‘stoater’ before but used in the same sense as a ‘belter’ and from the North.
