15:30 "It's not as warm as I thought it was gonna get" - probably because you used ice! Inuit use compacted snow which holds a lot of air bubbles and thus is a great insulator. Ice is just *cold*. Still, it looks amazing and no doubt you learnt something. Nice work.
@WhynottBelieve2 ай бұрын
Ya know it's cold outside; when you go outside and it's cold!!! My first thought as well, I am thinking snow is a good insulator ,but ICE not so much. I am thinking why is he using ice???Great ice box, nice evening light show though.
@VlReaderr2 ай бұрын
@@WhynottBelieve, ice can be an insulator. You can see a part of ice block is opaque. That part contains air bubbles as well. You only need to place every block opaque part inside. It will not insulate as good as snow, but it will be good anyway.

This fire pit is one of a few covered pits that is on the list kzbin.infoUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM of approved products for Disney Fort Wilderness. The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.

Ice construction is beautiful but dangerous. If that was to collapse on you - it would be a grave. Furthermore, all that weight bearing down requires very think ice beneath to support it. But, you're alive so it worked ;-) however, do keep the "gravity" of the situation in mind each time you do this. And congrats on having such an interesting channel!

Dude, this is really cool man, i used to love building giant snow forts when i was a kid, ive always wanted to build an actual igloo but i live in Central Pennsylvania and we dont get enough consistent cold weather to develop thick enough ice, lol, we barely get any snow anymore so even snow forts have become a thing of the past. The part with the northern lights and the igloo lit up on the inside was freaking awesome.

next time stagger the joint of the blocks ... and use powder snow between the blocks sides and bottoms so when you pour water the snow soaks it up and seals the walls .. snow shelters only get up to about 15f

I have made few of those and used as a sauna. Coldest weather was -43C. It'll heat up, but need serious power. I use sauna stove and lots of dry wood. It can get around 60C at upper part but feet are still cold. Also it'll get filled with mist and cold water droplets are dripping from the roof. Nice experience, especially with a hole where you can swim

The reason for the expansion and cracking is that I blood are made with packed snow, not ice. Great work but an ice igloo can't breath and snow it'll is are warmer inside because they have have air trapped in the snow so it insulates like foam.
