I honestly don't know why this man doesn't have 1 million subscribers... the skill he has and knowledge on these epic trips is second to none. You’re very welcome! Thanks for taking the time to check it out. I actually release these long ones in 20 to 40 min episodes first and then do a bunch of minor edits and put them all back to back for the long version. I release it some time after the initial series has run. A lot of people like to watch the initial series as it comes out episode by episode and then watch it all in one place months later when the full doc version comes out.

First off I have to say Thank You! Secondly and outwardly, you do an awesome job at production; audio, editing, filming, everything that makes watching your channel better than anything on regular tv and way better than most YTers. I thoroughly enjoy watching your adventures and the reality is when I was a younger man having done my fair share of adventures without the current technology, well it’s just sad that the only vivid memories are in my head without any true ability to share it with others as you do. I tried my best with what equipment I did have, but it never did anything justice as the current technology and skills you possess do. Sure I have the memories and the written words to try and convey my experiences, but nothing beats a full on production like you do! You are a gift to us old timers and I want you to know it!

There are four of us, we are a family... We couldn’t stop contemplating your adventures in the wild forest, swamps, streams and lakes, fast-moving rivers and waterfalls for a minute. I think each of us learned something new for ourselves. For example, I liked how you turn the canoe from the ground onto your shoulders, how you throw the blue barrel behind your back, and then I repeated these movements in my yard with different objects. My children were able to pitch a tent themselves, light a fire and cook noodles, and my other half made us all a lemon drink with homemade mint leaves from the windowsill. I want to have the same collapsible saw as yours and a knife in a case. Good luck my friend, may your home and your family be in perfect order.😊

Thank very much for the great comment. I’m glad to hear all of this and good for your kids getting the tent up. The saw is called the Boreal 21 by Agawa Canyon. For a sheath knife, I’ve been using the Cold Steel SRK (Survival Rescue Knife) made in CPM 3V steel. It’s an amazing knife and my go to.

I just finished watching this awesome documentary. What sets this apart from other you tubers is the detail of this trip. You showed how truly crappy it can get sometimes, seeing a beaver pond on a map, no longer there and walking through the muck for miles dragging a canoe and gear, sleeping on a rocky surface, a possible bear at camp, rationing when the main source of food, fish, is not biting. I enjoyed the use of the compass. It seems almost old school doesn't it when so many depend on GPS. And some only depend on GPS, then they get in trouble. And flagging the trail. I learned the compass and flagging in scouting and our own adventures of learning survival. It never leaves you. Finally, the quick definitions of the paddle on the screen. I learned much from this doc. Very enjoyable Jim.

Only one flaw with this otherwise flawless, amazing documentary. The General Patton quote is, "Courage is fear holding on a minute longer." Bravery is spontaneously going for it without fear.
