The Panjab story brings back a lot of memories for me. For me it was the mystic of the foreign correspondent. When foreign reporting came from a very distant place. I met the BBC guys in the very early 2000’s. Mark Tully & Satish Jacob who reported on this. I spoke extensively on this subject to them. I started my career in journalism at that time. I can always remember Mark Tully saying to me that Major General Shabeg Singh was a military man in presence. P.S “The Broken Butterfly”. Hi my dear Sikhs 😊💗, I'm a Hindu and my family runs a temple in Delhi and Inn 1984 during the Sikhs riots my dad told me that many Sikhs came to them to seek refuge and out all places we could have hid them we hid them in the alter behind the murti of Shri maha laxmi Narayan and my dad questioned my grandfather that there are other places the alter is only for brahmins and pujaris but my wise dadaji replied saying the Sikhs have made so much sacragice for our faith that they deserve to be honoured by going in the alter and sitting there this was the level of respect we have for Sikhs, and of course the congress mobs came and he saw congress party logos on the cars and they tried to attack the temple but failing to do so they then poured Kerosine around the complex engulfing it in flames they all survived by the fire not being able to penetrate the thick whiles but that night I believe just shows to our family so much about everything it was a revolutionary year
