The inside of Kmart stores is always so eerie. The lighting is very depressing, the store's layout sad, and it feels weird knowing that there used to be days where Kmart would be filled with shoppers and you realize you're the only one there now.

Easy to 'social distance' at K-mart. If you do get the co - vid, you'll know you didn't contract it at K-mart, because you never came within 6 feet (or 12 or 24 feet) of ANYONE the whole time you were in there!

Because that’s an old style vent. They never updated their stores. Not their lighting, not their ceiling tiles, and their air vents were never changed either. It’s pretty depressing to be honest.

All it takes is one investor to redesign one store and go against the grain of the financially strained corporate office to ressurrect Kmart. They also need to majorly pivot to compete with Wally and Target. Not to mention arch nemesis, Amazon.

The Kmart in Guam does very well. It even has rooftop parking as the lot is often full. That needs to be the model for all Kmarts. In Guam, there is no Walmart or Target, and Amazon can take up to 2 weeks to ship. Kmart is the only big box store there. It is a US territory in the Pacific Ocean.

Several stores use this technique (seen Burlington doing this in my hometown and I've read in other places too) that when the store doesn't have enough inventory they cordon off enough sections of aisles so they don't have to secure those areas and relocate the rest to the remaining part used. Just watch Manny's (this YT creator) video on the other FL Kmart location left in Key West. He popped his phone once over a big section that was blocked off.

Looks pretty well stocked. Honestly though, I think they may be almost done. I saw a picture on Facebook of the warehouse and there are no trucks at the loading docks. Looks empty. I think the lack of stock is going to do them in. The Sears at Woodfield is looking pretty bad. So sad. Great video.

This location is in very bad shape compared to the Hollywood and Lantana locations that closed in early 2020. Those locations were well stocked up until liquidation, while this one is very empty.

Now one more in White Plains New York, plus the Sears Kmart combo in Brooklyn. I know it's debatable on if that qualifies as a Kmart store but still that closer should at least be acknowledged. So yeah10 left in the mainland US and 6 in the territories. Sears after these 7 closes including the last Sears in Illinois, they'll be down to 18 full line Sears stores, while Kmart will just have 16. They'll be lucky to limp to the end of the year and going to 2022. But definitely time is running out for both of the full line Sears and Kmart.

The pharmacy already being permanently closed is a sign that the end is near for this Kmart. That is how it was with the Kmart in Clemmons, NC and the Kmart in Waynesville, NC.

This South Miami store is in the 1st phase before liquidation as they're dropping prices in most stock. It's in even worse shape than the one Manny did a few days later from Key West (they don't have % off many items).

As that one star rater said, Kmart has never updated their stores in the last 16 years, so some stores look old/run down. It's sad what happened to Kmart. In 2005 they had nearly 3,000 stores, now down to 11 in the continental USA. The question is how much longer can they survive?

Kmart and Sears have the longest store closings in history. The first Kmart that permanently closed in my state closed 19 years ago in 2002.
