I wonder who went full angry swipe and death grip on this destroyed/splitted white Cosmo flight there! Hahaha nice video again, glad a bit of my equipment got in there! Will have to give the Fit Flight Pro a chance, cause regular ones are dying on me way too fast for the price. Also starting to throw more and more with standard Harrows 100 microns flights on Supergrip stems, I like these a lot, punched with Mission lock rings 🎯

Have you used the air and regular variations of these flights? The diagonal hatching pattern on the vanes seems weird. And, frankly, they look reminiscent of those cheap molded darts that come with paper dartboards. If I commit to a particular system that's kinda spendy then I would want them to look sleek and flashy.
@WorldwideDarts2 жыл бұрын
To be honest I have pretty decent luck with most flights I use. Here's me using $5 Walmart darts... kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaOvm6WGo7h8nqM Honestly though, the biggest thing I can recommend BEFORE committing to a more expensive set up is making sure you eliminate the lip where the point meets the barrel. That lip is going to destroy ANY flights. So either change to a specialty point or use Trident 180 nosecones

Worldwide; really nice follow-up review. On your recommendation a few months ago I tried the Fit Flight Pro flights (pear shape D3) and short stems. I've installed them on 4 sets of darts so far. I haven't had to change out the flights and no broken shafts to date. But also with on your recommendation I either install a set of Target Storm points or the Trident 180 nose cones; they help alot. BTW; I just received the Alan Glazier darts (24 gram) I ordered from Darts Corner; they're a little short in length, but throw pretty good with my set-up.

I would now change all 3 flights and bring the one used - who is still good - back into the game if the first flight of the 2nd set breaks. So you always have equally worn flights with similar deformations in use.

@NeilBradburyTheLimey3 жыл бұрын
You don't talk about the warping. The pros warp very quickly compared to normal fits (not airs) and it looks like you have warping also. The beauty of molded flights is they stay square. Except when they don't. So I find it's a trade off. Long lasting on the trailing edge so they don't feather, but at the price of warping.
@WorldwideDarts3 жыл бұрын
I mentioned it in the review video that the Fit Flight Pro don't warp as easily. After 11 months they only have a slight warp in a couple spots so that's not too bad at all. Of course these flights are tiny so they would be less prone to warp compared to a normal sized flight. The Fit Flight Airs warped terribly. The non air flights are known to tear or split very easily though. It's a trade off I suppose

I really thing the the L-Style shaft and flight system is better. I've had the same flights on my darts for over a year. If you have the right dart,"no lip gang". they could last longer. I through every day for one to two hours and they just keep lasting. I've used the fit flights in the past and they rip and tare easily. The thick ones last longer but crack like WW flights did.
@Camrographer3 жыл бұрын
I know I'm being superficial here but I wish they made different colors for the pro-flights. They seem like a winner so I'm surprised why cosmo hasn't expanded the color variation. I was actually thinking about dipping my Eight flight flights into some kind of epoxy to reinforce them. I'll let you know if that will actually work. lol

I got the same flights (on your advice!), and they've also lasted for months. I'm using the spinners, which I think may have increased their longevity (I know you don't like spinners!).
@WorldwideDarts3 жыл бұрын
I'm curious though... and I ask this of everyone that uses spinners. When you've watched professional darts and see 99.9% of player NOT using spinners over the last 40 years what makes you think they benefit you? And, are you American by chance?
@BadgerBotherer13 жыл бұрын
@@WorldwideDarts Hi. No, I'm not American! I'm English, but living in Wales, not far the Red Dragon Darts headquarters, so of course I have to use their darts! I've only been playing at all 'seriously' the last couple of years (I'm nowhere near as good as you), but was fed up with flights falling off, stems breaking, etc., so experimented with various cheaper all-in-one systems, both spinners and non-spinners, but was not happy with any of them. Then I bit the bullet about a year ago and (largely on your advice!) bought the Cosmos flights and stems, and have been very happy with them. I went for the spinners because my tests suggested that using the spinners (along with Winmau Freeflo points) slightly extended the life of the flights, when compared to using non-spinners. I've seen your videos where you've said spinners don't offer any benefits in a game with regard to, say, marker darts, and I agree. In some instances the spinners may offer a benefit where the flight moves out of the way for an incoming dart on an awkward double, but then you may miss out on the ability to use a marker to deflect a dart into a double, so it evens itself out with no advantage either way to using spinners. The only reason I use them is because by moving the flight out of the way of a second or third dart there are fewer damaging collisions between tightly-grouped darts, resulting in the (quite expensive in the case of Cosmo) flights lasting longer. Of course, pros have different priorities, but as I'm far from a pro, my priority is prolonging the life of the flights, and in this I believe the spinners offer a slight benefit, which is why I use them, and there is certainly no disadvantage provided the spinners are of good quality like the Cosmos. Sorry for the long-winded response, and hope it makes sense!
@WorldwideDarts3 жыл бұрын
@@BadgerBotherer1 Thank you. I appreciate you took the time to answer my question. The recently deceased Larry King had a quote that I really like... "Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening." And that's what I like doing. Learning from others and hearing what they have to say. That's the thing in darts... if something works then go with it. There is no right or wrong. But I do feel you glossed over the fact that they have been almost non existent in the past 40 years of televised professional darts. That's a tough one to get around. It's not like we have to world class players. The "proof" is that spinners aren't needed to play world class darts. So if they aren't needed to play on a pro level I can't wrap my head around why they're needed at a lesser level.
@BadgerBotherer13 жыл бұрын
@@WorldwideDarts I didn't say spinners are needed to play better; I said that I think (based on my own tests) they make the flights last slightly longer than without spinners, because you get fewer heavy dart-on-dart connections, with the spinning stems moving the flight away from the incoming point. MY SOLE REASON FOR USING SPINNING STEMS IS TO DO WITH FLIGHT LONGEVITY, NOT BETTER SCORING! I don't know why pros never use them. You could also ask why pros rarely use darts with tapered nose-cones, either built in or the plastic trident 180s, because they would probably get fewer wild deflections, as you say in your videos, and maybe score slightly higher. You could also wonder why pros rarely use all-in-one stems and flights or Cosmo-type setups which would eliminate Robin Hoods. Maybe the average professional dart player is set in their ways, or maybe just not very intelligent (!), and overlook little ways to tinker with their setup that might improve their scoring just a touch. Having very long points (not sure what the maximum length allowed is) would seem to be another way to create more room in the treble 20, but most pros have standard (ish) points. I think the pros ought to look at your channel for suggestions to improve their games! You can't be far off professional standard yourself! Sorry for more long-winded waffle! Keep up the good work, WWD.

Depends on the length of your points. If you have short points and the darts bury themselves in the board they can get chewed up pretty quick because of them hitting the spider. Longer points and they will last ages.

hello.. I am from the Philippines... this is are newbie questions... I am new to the sport.. what length of shaft and type of flights should I use to replicate your cosmo flight and shaft set up? the Red Dragon Featherlite 5 10g is so hard to find... so, I have decided that I will buy the Designs Ultralite 12g.. there are two versions of it the straight barrel and the scalloped barrel... can you do a comparison which among the two versions in your opinion is much better?
