I first heard "Don't Know Why" while I was in Amsterdam in the summer of 2002. I was feeling a little under the weather and stayed in the hotel room while my wife and her father went out for a while. There was some kind of music video channel on the TV and this song came on and blew my socks off. I'll never stop associating this song with Amsterdam. Thanks Nora!

Not many people know that Norah was a graduate of North Texas State Univ. where hey had a great jazz program, a friend of hers who worked for Blue Note Records recommended they audition her. The times people say so and so has the voice of an angel. So many times I have wandered to what they were on about and... where is it? I didn't wander here. I was led here by a playlist, after listening to Norah's new song for the dozenth time and then a few other videos. I've not seen this. The audio playback can be a bit spotty, with odd crackles. But OH MY GOD Norah's voice on this is something else. Something special. I don't know if she caught magic that night that made her already brilliant voice just "shimmer" or whether it's just something Norah do sometimes, but angelic only BEGINS to describe this. Whatever the case, this is an example of super sayan Norah... and NO ONE can live with that. But if it's going to kill me I'll die happy!
