@@MidosujiSen fair play, that's the same rationale i've used for keeping a rodan riff in one of my band's songs (i say "keeping"; i was asked to sketch out a guitar part for something that had already mostly been written, got bored, played a bit of "the everyday world of bodies", the band said "that's good, keep it", and just got blank stares when i told them where i'd cribbed it from. in my defence, my band is _definitely, _*_never_* going to be as big as oasis ever was, and we're happy with that. also i think people who have heard of a louisville kentucky math rock band that released exactly one lp before splitting are a bit harder to find than people who have heard of one of the best glam rock bands of the seventies. still, i've adapted the original rodan guitar part a lot (not least because i'm no jason noble or jeff mueller), and am (obviously) more than happy to tell anybody who compliments the riff _exactly_ where i pinched it from (because rodan are great and more people should listen to them))
