Johnny Marr is my favorite. This Charming Man is why I learned to play guitar. Definitely do a video just on the Smiths or Marr. His work with the The, Electronic, Pretenders, Talking Heads, Modest Mouse & solo work equally inspired even if not the same je ne sais quoi as with the Smiths.

Even Noel admitted he borrowed the riff, it was before they were even signed and he didn’t care because he never thought they’d blow up quite like they did! Great tune, great riff, but probably could of chosen an abundance of other tunes that were less obvious or original like Acquiesce, My big mouth and so on! Great video and great group of bands in this list nonetheless! Manchester music will live forever

@@bloxsy_ it's totally fine, I'm so glad this was the first option instead of half a dozen more obvious ones! Waterfall is also a pretty cool choice, I saw the Roses on their reunion tour in London and the crowd went nuts just as the first notes hit. @@MidosujiSen fair play, that's the same rationale i've used for keeping a rodan riff in one of my band's songs (i say "keeping"; i was asked to sketch out a guitar part for something that had already mostly been written, got bored, played a bit of "the everyday world of bodies", the band said "that's good, keep it", and just got blank stares when i told them where i'd cribbed it from. in my defence, my band is _definitely, _*_never_* going to be as big as oasis ever was, and we're happy with that. also i think people who have heard of a louisville kentucky math rock band that released exactly one lp before splitting are a bit harder to find than people who have heard of one of the best glam rock bands of the seventies. still, i've adapted the original rodan guitar part a lot (not least because i'm no jason noble or jeff mueller), and am (obviously) more than happy to tell anybody who compliments the riff _exactly_ where i pinched it from (because rodan are great and more people should listen to them))
