I dated a dude who would rant about how much he hated dumb girls he wanted a girl who could think for herself but the moment he noticed I had different opinions to him he said I was too hard headed and needed to calm down and even said I'm too intense. The reason for this? We got into an argument because he said I don't do enough for him even though I was always travelling to his house to see him even tho he'd be asleep when I get there, he'd game his life away without showing recognition I was there next to him, and never wanted to go on dates. He was rude to my family and freinds and would compare me to his ex. And what’s so amazing to me is the out of shape and unattractive men wanting women like me and expecting us to be interested back. Hey Adam, I believe it is key to give people a chance, meaning some men don't look the part of handsome, confidant, and smart and frankly there are different kinds of intelligence. I mean sure a guy could be book smart but have no manual skills (ie. can't read a map, or assemble a basic Ikea coffee table). This goes for both men and women. I guess what am trying to say is have high standards but low expectations. From my point of view.. I would say be bold, when you see a guy, go and talk to them but don’t expect anything in return. And ask them off the beat questions. It happen to once a couple months ago. Yes, unfortunately over the years it seems like I have the opposite affect. The ones that I don't like and actually I think give off clear vibes that I don't want to talk to; those are the ones that seem to come out of the corners and keep running into me. The few that I've actually went out of my way to talk to or act like I like-they are extremely difficult, and by the time I've been done listening to their crap, I give up. The only relationships that I've had has been when a friend or family member have tried to set us up. So needless to say I've coached my daughter to be well, don't go out of your way too much for a guy-if he can't put in the effort in the beginning-you won't get it later. She goes to a huge school and people are always talking to this and that person but it doesn't really mean anything--I told her after graduation things change so no need for a relationship/dating right now. Once they're in the real world this will help to determine more of a direction of where the lives are going-and one you kind of like might go in the same direction as you.
