I’ll be 58 next week. Still in peri. I’ve been in a very dark place the last two and a half years. My GP just didn’t get it. I finally met with a menopause specialist 6 weeks ago. She put me on estrogen and progesterone. Oh my goodness ladies, I already am starting to feel amazing. I can’t express my joy. Thank you Chalene. Best wishes to all of you

I wish I knew some of the weird Peri menopause symptoms bcus when I told my Dr that my ears would itch deep down to the point of me grunting like a pig or violently digging in my ear til🎉it was sore and my hips hurt really badly when my period was coming. She laughed and said, it's just your allergies and percribed me drops and meds.l was in perimenopause till 60 lost 70lbs and it came back til 62. I never had the traditional symptoms I believed it was bcus I have taken vitamins and health supplements and worked out 5days a week and raised a young toddler in my 40s drank a gallon of water and cut sugar for the 1st 10yrs of my child's life. I couldn't afford to eat out so I cooked and baked at home. I really believe all that helped me stay above the curve. Plus I read a lot and love deep diving into things to help women be the best they can be bcus I wanna be in my hundreds still alert strong driving and living independently.

I understand. My hubby has been trying to die on me. He had open heart surgery last year. He was taken by ambulance on a trip back to our home state. They fixed his aorta & he has only 3½ valve's how doctor never found that with the 3 surgeries before that, i don't know. The medications have super horrible side effects. They give you antidepressant & the 1st side affect is you could get worse or even have suicidal thoughts. I am looking to help my hubby to get of the stuff accidentally found all this. I am really sorry. I have medical bills we are telling everyone we will you 10$ a month auto pay. Our health care is so broken. They are so specialized you have 4 doctor's for the heat. When you ask what about his brain or body? They say we'll i only deal with X. His 2nd trip to the hospital was so awful. I hope everything works out for you. I know it hard but stay positive. I have the church my son plays bass with to send us daily scriptures. They really help. ❤

I would like to see a stress episode for people whose life situations are not changeable and very stressful and they can’t sleep because of it… what can we do to reduce the effects of stress and improve sleep if the stress is not able to be reduced? Context: I’m essentially a displaced housewife. 44 years old, solo parent of 4 high needs kids. On the spectrum myself. No education (not even high school). No work experience since I was a teen so I can’t use it on a resume. Struggling financially. Chronic pain. Chronic infections. Autoimmune disease. CPTSD. Have struggled with anxiety and depression my entire life. … what can I do? Because this situation isn’t changing anytime soon, I’ve been in survival mode for several years now, and I feel like it’s killing me slowly. Doctors have never been helpful and I have no money to pay for a functional medicine doctor who might actually be helpful. I’m on Medicaid.

I hear you, and I’m so sorry you’re carrying so much. When life’s circumstances can’t change, it’s all about finding small ways to care for yourself where you can. Focus on tiny wins-like a few deep breaths, 5 minutes of stretching, or a soothing routine before bed. Even the smallest moments matter. Please know that you're not alone. Sending you lots of love and strength.

Thank you for this topic. I’m prime perimenopause at age 46. I just had my first MIDI appointment 2 weeks ago, completed my lab work and have my follow up this week. Thank YOU for giving us so much information that is helpful! ❤ Im 37 and have had SO many of these. Even hot flashes! My dr said NO WAY! He said that is HAD to be my skincare. So, I stopped all of that for a whole month… and, still had hot flashes. 😒 I need to find someone to help me with my hormones. So glad that you help us!! ❤

What a great video(im within the first 5 minutes). I believe now that menopause almost did me in. Not realizing it at the time, but i was in really bad shape mentally. Dr gave me anti depressant(of my choice), but the side effects were horrible and didn't help me. Started going to a diff pc, got laughed at as "thats what happens when we get older". I realized i was on my own. The ringing in the ears is what is so annoying. Wondered why i was more sensitive to noises & sounds in general. Lets not talk about how many times a night i wake up. Thanks Chalene! Oh & the list, i think i didnt check 5

Fantastic episode! Really going through it! I am almost 59, postmenopausal for probably 10 years. Never went on HRT for the same reasons you brought up. All the issues you discussed...from doctors not really getting it to needing to find someone more specialized that will most likely have to be outside of insurance etc etc etc!! Hearing more and more about the old studies just not being true. It's really sad!! Yes a dedicated video on sleep would be great Chalene❤❤

47 - been in peri since my late 30s, but it has happened gradually over the last decade. So gradual that I didn’t realize how much my body had changed. Got onto vag estradiol cream - it’s been a few weeks, no loading dose, just a maintenance dose. GIRL!!! I had no idea how thin, dry, and shriveled up she was getting until it started to come back! Omgosh! A world of difference. Not ready to consider systemic HRT yet, but this step has been so good for me.

I started irregular periods when I turned 47 this year, 2 months later I got 2 night sweats, and hot flashes on a slow pace and at irregular times. I had a 3-4 lb weight gain doing the exact same thing in my life. I also got these weird tension headaches I dismissed for sinuses. The truth is, that when I turned 46 years think is when I became perimenopausal but did not think it because I had regular monthly periods. At 46 my energy tanked and I was dying of exhaustion, loss of sleep, itchy ears and itchy upper back, and the worst joints and pains every day for the entire year, dry eyes, tingling, blurry vision, extreme brain fog and memory loss. So it started at 46 and got worst at 47. I am happy to say I am getting my 1st hormone panel on 10/18/24 so we shall see what has tanked but I have also heard I can test well and it be false. Urgh! I am 5’02, now 137 lbs, was 132. I will take HRT for f I have to because being I. What I call late stage of premenopause SUCKS!
@chalenejohnson
@chalenejohnson 7 күн бұрын
It seems like you’ve been through a lot, but it’s great that you’re finally getting a hormone panel done! It’s so important to get answers and understand what’s happening with your body. Hopefully, the results give you clarity, and if HRT helps, it could make a big difference. Hang in there-you’re taking the right steps, and you’re not alone in this!

Yes all of the things you have nailed it yet again. Resistance training is not the starter it’s the main course. Programs that focus on heavy lifting safely with proper nutrition, supplementation and as much movement you can get in during the day at zone 2 and even 1 if that’s all you can do will help. I still do Hit for resting hr but not as much. If you are a UKer like me keep going back to the dr if they don’t prescribe HRT if you can take it eventually you will be able to get it. Alcohol hmm yes riding out the lows without that buffer is quite challenging but like breaking that weekly habit and it is possible to ride out the lows. that’s a minimal for me. All good stuff Mrs J let’s all hope we can look and feel as phenomenal as you❤

Can't wait to watch the video. We definitely thought I was in perimenopause due to some symptoms, but my sister thinks it's legit because I've been getting this nagging headache that's lasted, more or less, the past 2 weeks. It waxes and wanes, but it just feels like this lingering tension-type headache, and I don't have a real history of headache issues. Occasionally, I'll get a migraine but it's rare. So I've read on some forums that this isn't totally uncommon (I admit, I was getting nervous about it), but it is very distracting while trying to go about life lol. (No other symptoms like blurry vision, etc). And it does ease up with ibuprofen and ice packs, and I can sleep through it. It's honestly night sweats that wake me up! My period has been wonky due to PCOS for a while, but this is a whole new level of not fun lol. Thanks for sharing all your info with us!! Just found your channel recently, and will be watching your other content~
