Since there filter resonance amount is not included as a modulation destination (sadly), i guess you can fake it somewhat with that normal to bandpass function - with setting "normal" to notch with resonance high up... It would be nice if you can confirm :)

i am really enjoying watching these tutorials! i couldn't really hear some of the effects created from vco 2 (in lfo mode). in the mixer I see that vco 2 is turned down to zero. if vco 2 is in lfo mode, can you adjust its input in the mixer section?

It might be a dumb question, but I just want to be sure. Can you also use VCO2 in the audible frequency range to modulate VCO1, to do FM synthesis?

WHere x-mod really shines is when the modulated osc (carrier).is also synced to the mod.osc.(modulator ) .. This seems to be impossible onthe ob 6 , or not .?

+S.R. Smith Well, they are theoretically the same thing but with a few different routing options... but due to the differences in oscillators and filters, it may sound different! I also have had more time to explore the functionality than I had with the Prophet 6!

So X-mod pt-2 will have switch to audio rates? As I used to use a Prophet 5 a while back (27 years..ulp!) I know what audio rate filter modulation can do! ;)

Thanks for the explanation. I have the Ob-6 and I'd trade the x-mod for an additional Lfo and a tiny screen to name the programs and to setup a comprehensive modulation matrix. As much as I love the sound of the Ob-6 I think they went too far with the vintage concept with no screen and no modulation matrix.

So in a nut shell its poly mod lfo with Vco 2. A very Dave Smith implementation 👍 Coupled with the fact you can vary the waveshape .....now that is powerful.
