In today's Puebla vlog, we are sharing some of the things that completely surprised us about this city in the Mexican state, Puebla. You might think they're all negative, but we think you're going to be just as shocked by our list as we were by these things in Puebla City, Puebla. Along the way, we're exploring various parts of the city like Zona Historica de Los Fuertes, el centro de la ciudad de puebla, restaurants in Puebla City, the Parian Market, and other beautiful streets of the city. ¿Que hacer en Puebla? A LOT! And we barely just scratched the surface while sharing our thoughts on the driving habits, cost of living in Puebla 2018, activities in Ciudad de Puebla, and more.
We hope you enjoy our perspective on Puebla, Mexico. It's one of many stops we plan to make as we continue to travel Mexico. If you liked this video and want to see more travel Mexico vlogs, please subscribe to our channel and GONG! that bell to be notified when we release new Mexico travel videos.

Puebla is a nice city, with a very long history as a "college" city (lots of universities there).. also, there is one of the biggest "autowerk" from Volkswagen outside of Germany, thus there are quite a few germans living there (most of them in Cholula, which has become a suburb of Puebla city) Cholula is also known for it's churches.. it's said that there are at least 365 churches (one for each day of the year), so you could hear "cuetes" just about every single day, depending on the patreon Saint of each church.. You should read the whole legend of these volcanos, but story short is that there were 2 lovers, Iztaccihuatl, an aztec "princess" and Popocatepetl, an aztec warrior, after he went to the war, someone falsely told her that Popocatepetl died in a battle, so she died of sadness.. when he returned and saw his beloved had died, he took her corpse to the top of a mountain and laid her down to an eternal sleep, while he mourned beside her with a torch in his hand.. Salu2

Thanks for the great tidbits about Puebla! We really like learning more about the places we're visiting. We should have mentioned this in the video, but it's incredible how many gorgeous churches there are throughout the city. They're almost all very colorful with beautiful tile work as well.

That’s a super old myth about the churches and I’m not even sure why it was ever made up because there’s barely like 1/3 of that amount of churches in Cholula and that’s including all the small chapels.

I LOVE Puebla! Visit the incredible Museo del Barroco and in that area La estrella de Puebla. Then take a hike over the Parque Lineal. Take the tourists train to Cholula town and visit the biggest pyramid in the world walk around town and eat there! Visit the Valquirico place just outside Puebla. Great place to eat. Watch the golden Capilla del Rosario and next to there buy some candies at the Calle de los Dulces. Go to the bazar at El Barrio del artista (on weekends). Visit the first library in the continent, the Biblioteca Palafoxiana, next to the cathedral. Go to take a drink at the lovely terrace on the Amparo museum Lots and lots of thins to do in Puebla!

I am glad you are in Puebla because it is usually overlooked by American tourists even though it is Mexico's 4th largest city. It is more popular with Europeans who visit Puebla attracted by its gorgeous architecture, handcrafts, food, history and great museums. It is a cultural sophisticated destination. In Colonial times Puebla was the 2nd wealthiest city of Mexico and that fact is noticeable in the rich architecture of many constructions of the historic center. To me the most remarkable example of Colonial wealth is the Chapel of the Rosary within the convent of Saint Dominique, on the same street where you saw all those shoe stores. This chapel is absolutely magnificent. It is covered with 22 karat gold from ceiling to floor. I don't know of you will be allowed to film inside the chapel, but it is a must-see. About prices, I agree with you. They are higher than in Morelia. Maybe because as I mentioned Puebla is more popular with tourists than Morelia. There are several eateries near the artcrafts market where prices are affordable. Finally, around Puebla there are several pueblos magicos like Atlixco and Cholula. Visit them if you can because they are pretty and full with gorgeous churches, squares and archeological sites. Enjoy your sojourn in Puebla.

Hello! I welcome to Puebla! I live in Puebla myself and there are a few remarks about my city I’d like to add. First of all as you mentioned we have several volcanos, including the smallest non-active volcano in the world called “Cuexcomate”.... The city is indeed one of the wealthiest cities in Mexico, next to Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. And it is said that Puebla is even a “snob” city. There’s a belief that if a company tries to place a new product in Mexico; it will be test first in Puebla. If it is well received here, then it is safe to release across the country. On a different-unrelated note, Puebla is a very conservative city and as such, since its foundation, there were created several churches around the old part of the city. There are in fact as many churches as days on the Gregorian calendar just around the downtown area! The tile artwork, displayed on the buildings façades, is a typical handcraft form the city called “Talavera”; and has both Spanish and moorish origins. It is even recognized world wide as an unique and complex kind of artwork. The wooden structure shown near “el Parian” is indeed supporting the weight of the building. After the last earthquake on September, some buildings were affected, specially around the downtown area. They set up those beams while working on restructuring the building’s foundations. YES.... we honk a lot. (Not a lot of comments on that). Oh just as a curious fact. The “zona histórica de los fuertes” is basically a two military forts complex on top of a hill. This is where the battle of Puebla was fought against the French invasion on May 5th, 1862. After defeating the French scout troops, the city decided to celebrate “Cinco de Mayo” (May 5th). “Cinco de Mayo” therefore has its origin in Puebla on a Mexican victory against the French troops around 156 years ago. I am glad you liked the city and you are welcomed to visit again to explore new places. Next time around the downtown area you should go to: 1. The City tunnels 2. Xanenetla 3. Analco 4. “ La biblioteca Palafoxiana” 5. San Francisco convent and gardens Or you can also visit the modern part of the city, where you can find places like: 1. The Ferris wheel “La Estrella” 2. Angelopolis-Solesta (Malls) 3. “Barroco” Museum 4. Atoyac Metropolitan Park 5. Lineal Park Cheers!

Fun to see Puebla - went there last summer. A big part of the wealth there is the Volkswagen assembly plant. If you want to see some symbols of wealth, head out to Lomas or the Angelopolis Mall near the Estrella. The tile is from the fact they make Talleverra pottery there (Puebla's known for this). A lot of the smog comes from the volcano itself.

Hello guys, im very happy you liked Puebla city, Im a resident myself, you should extend your visit for a few more days because ther's so mucho do and see arround town and nearby. Probably vou've heared about Atlixco which is this beautifull Pueblo magico about 40 minutes from Puebla city where you can find lots of flower fields and greenhouses where you can get one of the most amazing variaty of flower plants and many other kind of plants for an affordable price, also one of the main attractions in atilxco is it amazing views of Volcan Popocatepetl still at safe distance from its caldera, wich constantly smokes, almost every day, totally normal stuf for us Poblanos (puebla's citizens), ther's also Cholula town famous for its archeologic seattlement and Piramide, the rest of the town has a very colorfull and colonial architecture, also in cholula the's a friendly comunity of students and small enterpreneurs having small business of all kind, specialy food which prices are a little bit cheaper than prices at Puebla's Centro, you'll love it. Also ther's Tlaxcala which is another state of Mexico but is really smal in land extension and is reallly colse to Puebla, Tlaxcala's centro is only 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Puebla, you'll be happy to find a very small city with many colonial traits as well as Puebla but much more quiet and with amazing food as well as Puebla, also in Tlaxcala there's this other inactive volcano(totally safe) called La Malinche, which you can visit any time and do a little hike around to explore its amazing forest and maybe have a cheap but happy meal with the local business, Finaly I encorage you to stay near puebla city because really thers a lot to see and eat, maybe you shoud look for places to eat other than Zocalo in Centro because yes it's a little pricier but the rest of the city has places that are really cheap if you know where to find them, Greetings from Puebla, if you'd like to find someone hwom know the city and take you to worthy places I have plenty of time to guide you arround. I also speak English and can teach you some Spanish jajaja, anyway thaks for creating this amazing and joyfull youtube content, ill be glad to know more about you and Tangerine travels. By the way, where's Laska? there is an amazing park here in puebla where you can take your dog only for 15 pesos called Parque Metropolitano, is huge with a lot of green grass and plenty of space where he can run freely and safely.

@@TangerineTravels No problem guys, You're more than welcome at any time, Parque Metropolitano is located between Via Atlixcayotl and Boulevard Las Torres Behind the "Museo Internacional del Barroco" goo.gl/maps/S2PdJPeeNJH2 Hope You enjoy Veracruz state, Veracruz is one of the most beautifull states in México because of its rich flora, fauna, warm weather and cultural diversisty, on your way to veracruz you should definetly visit Orizaba which is a town located in a valley between the mountains, at the foot of the tallest volcano in mexico called "Pico de orizaba" or "Citlatepetl". Near Orizaba is a small lagoon called Laguna de Nogales a beautifull place to hang around because of its crystal clear ice cold water, very unique, you can even take a swim if you dont mind freezing. Also visit Orizaba's Centro Historico, Zocalo, the cathedral and the Iron Palace, always a nice place to walk around and have a hot cup of the famous Veracruz Coffe, really unique flavour. Min. 7:00 That is lateral bracing for structural support of the building. Most likely it is a measure to mitigate the effects of the recent earthquakes from September 2017. This is a common Historic Preservation technique used to assist valuable and vulnerable historic structures.

Some fun tips about Puebla, -The oficial name is Puebla de Zaragoza (or 4 veces Heroica Puebla de zaragoza, or Puebla de los Angeles, or just Puebla city) The historical center of Puebla is World Heritage Site. (Also the valley of Tehuacan is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, in the south of the state) -The tipical costume of Puebla is the china poblana (the typical costume that has been adopted as the image of the Mexican woman) and the chinaco (the ancestor of the charro) -Talavera is the handicraft of Puebla is famous because the image of Mexican food and has a designation of origin. -Its maybe th most history and heroic city -Was the first city in all continent only by spaniards, has a grid layout very typical of the European cities of that time -It was the second most important city in New Spain and Mexico competed (and still in many stuff) in everything with the mexico city that had more people, resources, etc. Until the 20th century Guadalajara and Monterrey they surpassed it -It was the last city to sign the treaties of independence (it was always faithful to the Spanish crown) and the Spanish crown remains on the facade of the cathedral, The cathedral has the tallest towers of the colonial churches in the country -In the invasion of USA, he had a US governor -Puebla is place where the mx army and poblanos beat the french army May 5 of 1862 (cinco de mayo) -in 1863 the French returned and besieged the city for more than 60 days, where the city was almost destroyed and where more than 11,000 people died, it is known as the Puebla site '-Puebla is released until April 2, 1867 by Porfirio Diaz, our day of victory. -It is also where the revolution began in 1910 but on September 18 with the Serdan Brothers (You can visit his house in the center, he still keeps the bullets in the facade) -In this city they were born foods like Chiles in nogada, Mole, Tacos arabes, tacos al pastor, rompope, cemitas, chalupas among many others. -great characters from the history of mx plus many actors, singers until youtubers the most famous Luisito Comunica were born here.
