Perhaps due to the events of the Sekai Taikai Daniel becomes a bit distant from Karate having had so many negative things happen, with his master, what happened in the final scene of the part 2 finale, etc. The series finale of Cobra Kai might actually end up being a negative ending for Daniel. So perhaps that also means he's distanced himself from everyone including his family, perhaps this movie is his healing arc where at the end he returns to Amanda and his kids. Just my theory maybe I am reading too deep

I think none of the Cobra Kai actors will appear other than maybe brief cameo or mention in the film. the reason why I say this is that the final season of CK and the new movie were developed at overlapping times and by different groups of people - and I don't think they shared information on plotpoints. I am also curious as to how the movie will do. I think they will have issues with the test screening and marketing the movie.

If there were any characters from Cobra Kai to appear as cameos, most likely it would be Anthony or Amanda.

Even with Macchio saying it takes place 3 years after cobra kai, really looks like theyre ignoring it so they can combine the orignal karate kid movies with the 2010 one. If cobra kai didnt exist as a series the moment we see Daniel in the new movie would have carried a great emotional impact. People would have instantly been taken back to when they seen karate kid as a youngster. If they mostly ignore cobra kai I think theyre hoping they can still pull that kind of response off. Cobra Kai is fun and all, but honestly, the action scenes in the series aren't nearly done as well as the films. The series really lacks the fluidity of the films and a lot of the characters are etched out of necessity to move the plot along no matter how idiotic or annoying they may be. Idk. Imo they should have let the series live in it's own universe.

I disagree with the claim that the jacket move is directly tying the reboot film to Cobra Kai and this film. Remember the showrunners, Machio, and Zabka have said multiple times the 2010 film is a reboot and not connected. This film is simply taking Jackie's character and remaking it notice how Jackie's appearance in this trailer. Is completely different from his look in the 2010 film if they were going to merge the 2010 film with Cobra Kai and the original franchise. Then they would have had Jackie have the exact same look from his 2010 film this trailer is telling us that Han is a different take on the character. It's like how some actors return to play their character in a new film after having died in a prior film. Basically, Karate Kid Legends is saying that the 2010 film never happened in this universe.

While the show is great but honestly it told every single story and repeated many plot lines that there really isn't much you can do with the show and a movie will not add anything that the show didn't already explore with those characters. Therefore it's best this movie is separate from the show to talk about completely different characters and settings and who knows you may get a cameo from one or some of the characters from the show. However they will not be the main focus
