Dia daoibh 👋🏻 Tá súil agam go mbainfidh tú sult as an fhíseán seo agus mo thagairt do 'Father Ted' agus 'Breaking Bad' - I hope that you enjoy this video and my reference to 'Father Ted' and 'Breaking Bad' 😁 Is aoibhinn liom iad! Aon duine eile? - I love them! anybody else? 🥰 Also, I just wanted to note a correction: Deir - is originally 'Abair', it changes to deir in the present & future. So, Abair is irregular in the future tense as it changes to Deir. Tá brón orm, rinne mé dearmad 🥺 I'm sorry, I forgot. Slán, Molly x

Oh, yes please do!! I just FOUND you channel, i love it! I can use that video that you just mentioned❤ ...I am just learning, from USA... my grandmother was from Ireland, donegal... it is sad that her history, stopped with her--- we never knew anything, as to Ireland... no irish was spoken😪....PS. an idea: also, a video of vocabulary words, that have the hardest SOUND combinations to read, a few words of each type, listed and shown as you read them... (for example, NOT the translation of these words here, but, groups of irish words, shown, that portray their OWN SAME COMBINATION LETTERS--- here are english examples: sleigh, weigh, neigh.....thought, ought, sought, bought.... round, ground, sound....right, sight, might.... faint, paint, quaint....peach, reach, leach.. * that way, we can listen, and, read, and copy the sounds, ALL THE SAME, a few times, in a row, for each combination 🤗🥰, with you) do you see what i mean??... here is aother example, in spanish, : llorar, llena llanto... quatro, quarto, quando...., and, example in french: beau, chapeau... moi, toi ... ceux, peu, feutre,... etc, 🤗🥰

change up your learning methods 😁 try watching shows as Gaeilge, listening to ceol as Gaeilge, reading etc. I'm learning Italian at the moment and I started labelling things around my house with the Italian for them, it's a great way to learn vocabulary and you'll feel accomplished when you can recall them 😊 also connect with others who are learning Irish too! there's load on instagram, Facebook groups 👍🏻

Hello and thank you so much for this helpful tips, I am an Italian guy with a strong passion for the Irish language and culture (especially folk and rock music). If I may dare to ask, do you often listen to specific musical groups whose lyrics are in Irish? May it be considered it a good way to train the "hearing ability" ? 🙂

@ajrollo1437
@ajrollo1437 3 жыл бұрын
There was a plural "you", but we dropped it. (Or I suppose "you" was the plural, and "thou" was singular. I forget which was which.) I've no idea why. However there's still the dialect specific "Y'all", or "You'se guys" that I feel all English speakers should embrace.

I have a question you did a video on doulingo amd I was wondering if irish amd gaelic are the same thinv or if they are two different languages?
3 жыл бұрын
Well in Ireland we never refer to it as Gaelic, always Irish. Irish is a Gaelic language, as are Scottish Gaelic and Manx (from Isle of Man) so it would be correct to refer to it as Irish Gaelic but not Gaelic alone. However, it is commonly referred to as just 'Gaelic' , something that annoys many Irish people 😂😂

There are a good words in all of the Gaelics of Latin origin that were borrowed directly from the Romans. The p's in those words were changed for c's because at that time the language had no p sound and the speakers couldn't pronounce it.

@@rag0t2010 Unfortunately, I don't know of any. If anything, the vector points probably points the other way ultimately because Iberian Celtic is thought to be related more to Gaelic than other Celtic languages.
