I can't agree with the frame-by-frame tip enough. I work for a page called Frame by Frame Animation that takes animated and live action clips and breaks them down/annotates them for animation reference. One of my jobs is to breakdown those clips, so I'm pretty much doing studies of animated or live action reference every day. It's been SO helpful. There's no better way to learn animation than by seeing what the masters do.

do you recommend using a wacom tablet for 3d animation in maya?
@adibcherit47295 жыл бұрын
Hello! I personally think it depends on your preferences. I sometimes think that using a wacom tablet in any software kinda feels smoother than a mouse. But sometimes for really specific movements, parts of modeling, or anything that requires precision I'd use a mouse. But that's just me haha, play a little with the wacom on Maya and see how you feel. :)

Hi! First of all thanks for all your help and great info. I have a random question but I didnt know where to ask it. So you are from AM, but what do you think of Animschool? Do you know people that studied there and are working at big studios? Because I've seen that most of the professionals comes from AM but I see the showcases of the students and Animschool wins everytime in 3D character (human)animation. SO I want to hear your opinion. Thanks

I'd say to ignore the course credit and just find great classes and workshops! The best stuff isn't linked to universities or course credit- like the AnimC EPIC, 1-on-1 mentorships, or even my Maya classes as examples :)

Thanks a lot for your tips, I have a question is it right that when i make a reference i have to copy it to my animation like auto scoping and dont change poses just copy it like the reference, another thing someone told me that i have to copy poses every 8 frames in first blocking pass, is that right or i have to block it by understanding and analyzing the reference ?

In the off-chance anyone's looking, I hope nobody minds if I speak my mind, speaking of how to improve animation. I draw and animate with a skill that makes old Newgrounds animations look like Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. I've been in a catch-22 whereby my art and animation's not good enough to impress anyone into providing tips for improvement. I want to improve myself, and I like thing I marginally am; however, in order to really get better, I need peer review. I realize this might seem petty, but: in the off-chance anyone sees this, if you'd be willing to review any of my little animations- even just one, and even if it's one of my older/est ones- you would have my immense gratitude. From one artist to another.
