I NEVER saw the point of: skinny jeans which are uncomfortable leggings in disguise; the new baggy look jeans; low rise jeans. What is left? Old fashioned vintage straight leg jeans which don't stretch and give you a great ass pardon my language. Seriously!!!! Otherwise what a great video for leggings!

I love wearing leggings and jeggings! You are absolutely right about the boot issue. There is no way I can wear my jeans and can zip up my boots. All boots fit quite snug in the calf, especially since I wear a size 5 shoe! (Most often I have to buy a size 6 boot and wear chunky ankle socks with them.) Leggings give a level of comfort no pair of jeans can and with the right layering pieces, can look extremely chic and stylish. I do incline to wear black …. A lot! However, it’s not that difficult to bring in some color and textural interest when wearing black leggings. I have discovered certain colors of leggings (for me, at least) are a huge no no. White, pastels, and nude (oh Lord!!!) are a really bad idea! 😬

I love your videos. I do want to point out to people one thing though. Make sure you know where leggings are okay and where they are not. Make sure your workplace dress code doesn't have a rule against "tight-fitting" or "skinny fit" style bottoms. If this rule exists, even skinny fit dress slacks are out. I say this because I learned the hard way when my go-to shop redesigned their dress slacks to skinny fit to follow trends.

I do get confused a bit about the “lines cutting our legs to make them look shorter”. For instance, when you paired the black leggings with the high brown boots, didn’t that break the rule? Hi Jacque- that's a great point- I actually wanted to explain in the video but didn't want to spend too much time on one outfit. Yes, black bottom with black shoes is always the most leg elongating option. Even though we are all petite, some of us may be blessed with a longer leg/short torso proportion, so elongating legs or looking taller may not always be their goal in styling. If elongating legs is your most important goal, then, yes, go with black leggings and black boots! Otherwise, if you want to try other color boots, then, you can use other hacks too, e.g. go pointy toe, which also has the leg elongating effect. Hope this helps!

I'm watching your videos and learning.. Videos are really helpful... but I'm a bit confused... You often say we should be careful on vertical and not to "chop" ourselves on horizontal lines. But on 5:33 (on the right side of screen) you show beautyful outfit, wich goes against that idea: long brown cardigan, high boots... you are choped on 3 horizontal parts, but is still looks nice. Why? I noticed this in more of your videos (yeah, I just have a covid :))... in one video you teach us one thing, in other video you violate it :) but it still looks nice. 1. Would a long duster cardigan look good over a midi skirt of same length??? If there was waist definition and not volume head to toe, such as a fitted top tucked into the skirt. 2. A constructive criticism. Whenever this video suggests black I would've preferred the word "a neutral" or "a neutral that's good on you" or "your favorite neutral." Some people such as me look horrible in black (I have Soft Autumn and Soft Summer body colors). We all have our most flattering neutrals which could be used how black was used here. For some that's a charcoal, cream, tan, camel, chocolate, navy, or whatnot. Olive can even be pretty neutral or say a dark green, dark red, or deep eggplant.

Hi Janet- yes, I'd do a half tuck if your sweater is thin! My leggings from Loft are elastic waistband- it's really hard to tell them from dress pants, so I'd just style them like those.

My inseam is 26.5-27”, but most pants come in 33” or 36” standard, it’s crazy. I can’t wear pants from H&M, my go-to brand, not only are they way too long, but the crotch hangs halfway to my knees!

HM now also has a small petite line for jeans and pants.

If you can only find longer pants in some places, go for ones that are listed as low rise. That will shorten the rise issue (hanging down in the crotch). From there you can have fun customizing the taper style and hem length. I find altering my clothes gives me the perfect pant fit for me versus trying to find it ready off the rack.

Look for viscose ones, they are cool and breathable, or linen slim joggers (H&M). It’s broiling hot where I live too, but at least it’s dry.

Suzanne- depending on how long your blazer is, you can style with a black or white bottom. If it's longer, style with jeans or pants. If it's shorter, you can also consider skirts.
