My late Mom taught me that a thankful heart creates a thankful home.
This is the reason I decided to go back to the youth in my community to hang out with them, because of the level of support they provided during the funeral day.
The youth of my community supported my family with security, ushering, and protocols, which made the funeral ceremony very successful.
It was the first time in the history of my village where an event was hosted, and not a pin was reported stolen at the event, unlike other places in the locality.
It could be recalled during my consultation ( 🅴🅿🅸🆂🅾🅳🅴 6: How to interact with the locals in Nigeria...Introducing my wife to my community. • 🅴🅿🅸🆂🅾🅳🅴 6: 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐭 ... ), I informed them that I was not interested in hiring police or any private security outfit to protect us or assist us in the event protocol. My thought process was as a member of the community, I have been there for them in the past. Now it's their turn to show me the same love and support I have given them.
To make the job easy for them, I made sure I printed tags with ropes for them to hang around their necks. The tags I gave them differentiated them from any other person coming to the event. That way, there were able to direct people on where to sit, direct cars on where to park, and secure where drinks and food were kept for peace and orderliness.
I really want to once again thank the President and the entire Youth of Ikot Ebo Ikono, in Uyo local government area of Akwa Ibom State, for their support during my late Mom's funeral. Cheers.
