So here's the thing. I don't buy the whole "the voices in my head told me to do it". Not disputing the voices. I'll accept for the sake of argument that the voices seem very real. Real, in fact, as the voice of some stranger passing by you on the sidewalk. But, that being the case, if a random stranger passing by on the sidewalk instructs you to off your parents, do you? No, of course not. So why the voice in your head? Either one is telling you to do something completely criminal. It's the one who acts on the command who is responsible.

I can't help but have issue with trying her as an adult...she's not. Does she need help and should be punished yes. But sentencing someone her age to live without any change of parole does just feel cruel. You are giving he not reason to better herself in any way.

This goes without saying but this firearm should've been locked-up. I don't care how much you trust your kids/partner...lock it up and be the only one who knows it's location. One life lost, several changed forever, all preventable.

I do think that one thing that many people are not taking into consideration while watching this video is the prevalence of drug induce psychosis, especially in our new age of THC products. Marijuana is significantly more potent now than before, and this has led to an increase of drug induced psychosis. I don't have an opinion on whether or not this was the case, however I still think it is important to consider.

Without a doubt she knew what she was doing and should be prosecuted. But her age baring in mind makes one wonder what contributed to her doing this. The reality is it is scientifically proven that between 1-7 your life experience and upbringing contributes towards who you become. No one is born like this. There is always deeper questions!
